Commercial &Residential Fire Alarm shop drawings are required at the time of
application submittal and must include the following information:
1. A Colorado Registered Engineer's stamp or N.I.C.E.T level III (min) stamp
2. Equipment cut sheets of materials
3. Hydraulic calculations
4. A State of Colorado contractor registration number
5. Plans must be submitted by a Registered Fire Protection Contractor

RE: Vail Marriott Resort and Spa at 715 West Lionshead Circle
Mr. McGee,
This letter is intended to describe the full scope of worlc for changes to the fire sprinkler system that
will be pertormed by Westem States Fire Protection Vail Marriott.
Requested modifications to the fire sprinkler system are as follows.
: At the request of the owner, Westem States fire Protection will be adding inspectors test valves
close
to the remote areas of all wet systems in phases 1, 2, and 3. Floors 2 through 6.
: The new inspectors test valves will be attached to express drains that will be installed in stainivells
And drain to the outside of the building.
: These new valves will be used for water flow test that will be performed during all test and
Inspections of the systems.
: The existing test and drain valves located at each riser assembly will be labeled as main drain
valves.
All woiic performed will meet NFPA 13 standards and local requirements. All added materials will be
compatible with the existing systems.
It is our understanding that this letter will be sufficient to obtain a permit to proceed with the work
described above. No other work will be done without authorization from VFES. If further information is
required to issue a permit please contact our office in Glenwood Springs at 970-618-3294.
