Bottom pan should line up with the finished sill height, allowing for any inside additional materials such as tile (see figure 3). Attach wind�w to jambs, sill and header with screws long enough to penetrate through any furring strips and deep into framing. A ribbon of caulking between the frame and flashing is a must. 4.Sup�ort bracing is required on each end of the window (Warranty will be void witho�d proper support). These supports can be constructed as part of the wall framing or metal support bracl<ets may be fabricated to adequately support the window. Fasteners to be supplied by installer (1/4" x 3" lag screws are suggested for wall mounting). Brackets must attach to the vertical studs below the window (see figure 3}. 5.Optional extruded aluminum stucco molding is cut square to fit around the perimeter of the window. Five (5) bulk samples were collected of suspect asbestos containing materials. The bulk samples were analyzed utilizing Polarized Light Microscopy at an accredited laboratory. The EPA and OSHA Standards and Regulations differ on how asbestos containing materials are removed, repaired and cleaned-up. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes material that contains greater than one percent asbestos to be ACM. The Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) states that any materials containing any level of asbestos should be treated as asbestos containing material under their standards. Due to the difference in the definitions of asbestos and asbestos containing materials, the results of the investigation are listed below. Results Laboratory analysis detected the following materials to contain greater than 1% asbestos: ➢ Remaining Drywall Texture and Joint Compound Throughout Unit ➢ Sheet Vinyl Flooring In Bathroom ➢ Black Mastic on Floor In the Bathroom and Hallway Closet Please reference the attached Asbestos Inspection Summary Chart for a complete listing of sampled materials. Page 2 May 16, 2011 Conclusion Upon arrival for this inspection, the unit had previously under gone a large amount of demolition at an unknown date. There is no knowledge of any previous asbestos investigation. The remaining suspect asbestos containing materials in the unit were sampled for asbestos content. If any of the materials stated in the Results section which contain greater than 1% asbestos content are going to be disturbed by the planned renovation/demolition, they will have to be removed by a licensed asbestos abatement contractor following all EPA and Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment Regulation #8 requirements. Only the materials listed in the Asbestos Inspection Chart have been sampled for possible asbestos content, this however does not mean that additional suspect material will not be discovered during the demolition process. If any additional suspect materials are observed, work should be stopped at that location and bulk samples need to be collected. This report is not to be used as an asbestos abatement design document or for any bidding purposes related to the actual asbestos removal other than providing information on what suspect materials contain asbestos. Exclusion Statements MHE warrants that the findings contained herein have been with the level of care and skill exercised by experienced and knowledgeable environmental consultants who are licensed or otherwise trained to perform asbestos inspections pursuant to the scope of work required on this project. The asbestos inspection included inspection of accessible materials such as above or behind suspended ceilings or other non-permanent structures. MHE did not inspect or sample inaccessible areas such as behind walls or within ductwork and did not dismantle any part of the structure to survey inaccessible areas. For the purpose of this warrant, inaccessible is defined as areas of the building that could not be tested (sampled) without destruction of the structure or a portion of the structure. In the event that access to a portion of the building was not obtained (which otherwise would have been tested), such limitations will be listed. The classification of a material as friable/non friable is made upon the condition of the material upon disturbance. The removal of approximately 550 square feet of asbestos containing ceiling tiie, in the upper level of the Residence located at 2568 Arosa Dr. Vail CO was completed on 5/21/11. Work Area inspection and clearance air sampling were completed 5/23/11. Mr. Robert Ragan of RZ Analytical performed the visual inspection of the work area according to ASTM E 1368-OS Standard Practice of Asbestos Abatement Projects. Visual inspection concluded with no visible dirt or debris observed in the work azea. After the visual inspection was completed, clearance sampling was performed. The air samples were analyzed on site by phase contrast microscopy (PCM) according to NIOSH method 7400. The observed sample results demonstrated airborne fiber levels to be less than 0.01 f/cc for each of the clearance air samples. In accordance with Colorado Regulation 8, Part B, the second level in the Residence located at 2568 Arosa Dr. Vail CO is clear for repair or normal work activities and occupation (Please refer to the attached air sample report for results) *It should be noted building materials not previously analyzed at 2568 Arosa Dr. Vail CO must be assumed asbestos, until tested and pmven othemise.
