Minor Exterior Alteration
General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site im-
provements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail
Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information - Town Code Online. All projects re-
quiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design
Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as
outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Plan-
ning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a
building permit is issued and construction commences.

I apologize and I should have clarified further ..............
The RICA agreement gives Vail Resorts a blanket approval for any and all work in the project space without HOA
authorization- As the Director of Engineering, I am authorized representative for the property to act on behalf of this permit
application.

As a follow up on a recent conversation that Warren Campbell and Dick Funk (VRDC) had in regards to the DRB
Application recently submitted.
The intent of this email is to explain the ownership of the balconies at the Arrabelle, located at 675 Lionshead Place in
Vail. In a normal condominium project, the HOA would be directly involved as the owner of the balconies and would
obviously need consent before doing work. The Arrabelle is a mixed -use project and a bit out of the norm from your
typical project, Vail Resorts solely owns and operates all of the balconies and drains at the Arrabelle- there is no
involvement or shared ownership with the HOA, therefore requiring HOA signature on this permit application is not
appropriate. I am hopeful that this clarifies that the "Joint Property Owner Written Approval Letter" is not applicable and
that we are able to proceed through the permit application process and that our application is deemed complete.
Also of note -The RICA agreement specifically states that we (Vail Resorts) have complete access to all project space /lot
and do not require HOA sign off as the HOA only owns air space within their condominium. Please advise if additional
information is needed.
