EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Sunrise Environmental, Inc. (SEI) provided air monitoring services for No Bull Repair
and Remodeling at 2079 Chamonix Lane, Unit#2, Vail, Colorado on June 18, 201 l. The
field representative for SEI was Mr. Scott D. Sanders. Work was performed in
conjunction with asbestos abatement at the site. Asbestos abatement was conducted by
Rocky Mountain Mitigation; a Colorado Department of Health licensed asbestos
abatement contractor.
SEI's scope of work included collection and analysis of final clearance air samples,
performing visual inspections of work area prior to collection of air samples, and
assembling project documentation.
Subsequent to cleanup, SEI visually inspected the containment areas for visible dust and
debris. Upon passage of visual inspection, SEI collected final clearance air samples and
notified Rocky Mountain Mitigation and No Bull Repair and Remodeling when
laboratory results indicated airborne fiber concentrations were not in excess of 0.01 fibers
per cubic centimeter (f/cc) as required by Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment (CDPHE) Regulation #8.
At project completion, air-monitoring results indicate concentrations of airborne fibers
did not exceed OAIf/cc as required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
CDPHE for re-occupancy following asbestos abatement.

INTRODUCTION
SEI provided air monitoring services for No Bull repair and Remodeling at 2079 Chamonix
Lane, Unit#2, Vail, Colorado on June 18, 201 L The field representative for SEI was Mr. Scott
D. Sanders. Work was performed in conjunction with the removal of asbestos containing
materials at the residence. Asbestos abatement was conducted by Rocky Mountain Mitigation; a
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) licensed asbestos abatement
contractor.
SEI performed the final visual inspection, and the collection and analysis of Phase Contrast
Microscopy (PCM) air samples after asbestos abatement. SEI successfully participates in the
AIHA Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) Program (Laboratory ID# 196102) and inter-
laboratory and intra-laboratory round robin analysis. All SEI analysts have been certified in
NIOSH 582E to perform collection and analysis of PCM air samples.
SCOPE OF WORK
Rocky Mountain Mitigation's scope of work for this project consisted of the removal and
disposal of asbestos containing drywall texture from behind the tub in the bathroom of the Unit.
SEI has performed the following Industrial Hygiene services:
• Performed visual inspections of the abatement area,
• Collection and analysis of PCM air samples to monitor concentrations of airborne
fibers after asbestos abatement in accordance with CDPHE Regulation No. 8,
• Assembled and submitted project documentation.
The findings set forth in this report are strictly limited in time and scope to the date of the
evaluation. The conclusions presented in the Report are based solely on the services described
therein, and not on scientific tasks or procedures beyond the scope of agreed upon services. SEI
performed a visual inspection and collected final clearance air samples following the removal of
drywall texture from behind the tub in the bathroom only. Evaluation of asbestos containing
materials at the site other than the drywall texture removed from behind the tub in the bathroom
was not included in SEI's scope of agreed services.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

AIR MONITORING
Sample Collection
The effective filter area for samples collected on June 18, 2011 was 385mmZ.
PCM samples were collected on 25 millimeter (mm) mixed cellulose ester membrane filters (0.8
micron pore size). The filters were preassembled by the manufacturer in conductive three stage
cassettes with eXtension cowls.
Air samples were collected at a flow rate of 14.8 to 15.0 liters per minute (LPM). Flow rates
were recorded at the beginning and at the end of the sampling period using a Primary Standard
flow calibrator. All air samples were collected open-faced and positioned at breathing zone
height (approximately five feet above the floor) with exposed portion of the cassette facing
downward. Clearance air samples were collected aggressively and in accordance with CDPHE
Regulation#8. (See Appendix A for sample data)
PCM Analysis Methodolo�v
PCM samples were analyzed by SEI according to the NIOSH 7400 Method ("A" counting rules).
This method can be found in the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods. All air sample results
are calculated with blank corrections, checked and reviewed. Unused portions of samples are
archived three months unless client requests special handling. Laboratory analysis was
accomplished utilizing a Phase Contrast Microscope. Size and fiber counts were performed at
400X magnification. The microscopy field area (MFA), defined by the Walton-Beckett
Graticule is 0.00785mm2
CONCLUSIONS
At project completion, air-monitoring data indicate concentrations of airborne fibers were not in
excess of O.OIf/cc as required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and CDPHE for
re-occupancy following asbestos abatement.

Asbestos Testing &Abatement Requirements
Asbestos testing and abatement protects workers, homeowners, neighbors and emergency services responders from ex-
posure to harmfui asbestos. It is your responsibility to be in compliance with the State. Please contact the State directly
for their requirements at the contact info listed below.
When is asbestos testing reauired7
ANY building projects disturbing more than these threshold levels of building materials require asbestos testing:
One- and Two-Family Dwellings: 32 square feet
All Others (commercial spaces, hotel rooms, etc): 160 square feet
Definition of a single-family dwelling: any dwelling unit that is used primarily for a single family, including
multi-family/condominium units, and fractional fee units.
Asbestos testing results must be provided with your application for a building permit.
Tests which identify POSITIVE results at more than 1% require abatement by a State-certified abatement contractor. The
clearance letter must be submitted to the Town of Vail before the building permit will be issued.

• The "1989 Ban" on asbestos-containing materials is commonly misunderstood. "In fact, in 1991 the U.S. Fifth Circuit
Court of Appeals vacated much of the so-called "Asbestos Ban and Phaseout" rule and remanded it to the EPA. Thus,
much of the original 1989 EPA ban on the U.S. manufacturing, importation, processing, or distribution in commerce
of many asbestos-containing product categories was set aside and did not take effect." - CDPHE

Dear Mr.Turnbull,
Sunrise Environmental, Inc. performed a limited asbestos inspection at 2079 Chamonix Lane, Unit 2,
Vail, Colorado on May 15, 201 l. Sunrise Environmental, [nc. collected three (3) samples of drywall
texture, and one (1) sample of ceramic tile adhesive and grout from the bathroom of the unit where
scheduled renovation activities will impact the materials. Bulk samples were submitted to Aerobiology
Laboratory Associates, Inc. located in Lakewood, Colorado for analysis. Laboratory analysis indicates
the drywall tezture in t6e bathroom contains 4% Chrysotile asbestos. The inspection was limited to
the drywall texture and ceramic tile adhesive and grout in the bathroom only. No other areas or
building materials were inspected or sampled at the Client's reques� Flooring materials in the
bathroom were not assessed at the Client's request. The table below lists the sample information for
the materials collected. The analytical data report and inspector certifications are attached.

The property has 8 apartments. The remodel is to install a steam shower in
bathroom in Unit 2. The meter has a 100 amp main breaker. The feeder to
the panel is a 1/0 SER wire from the meter. The only circuits we are adding
is a steam shower, 240 40 amp circuit. The kitchen has 2 small appliance
