Approximately 12 inches of ponded water was observed in the base of the excavation. The soils surrounding the ponded water were soft. No organic materials were observed in the excavation. The contractor excavated to approxirnately 18 inches in the area that had soft soils, placed geogrid, and then placed and compacted 3/4" angular rock. The rock extended beyond forms at 1/1 (Horizontal to Vertical) slope. The rock was compacted and was medium dense to dense. This report prosents opinions formed as a result of our observations and/or compaction testing of the fill during this visit. We have relied on the cmtractor to continue applying the recommended compactive effort and moisture to the fill during times when our observer is not observing operations. Tests are made of the fill only as believed necessary to calibrate our observer's jud ment. Test data are not the sole basis for o iions on whether the fill meets s ecificatims.
