Town Engineer Report#: 49A Sheet: 1 of 3
Department of Public Works/Transportation
1309 Elkhorn Drive
Vail,Colorado 81657
Project: Lionshead Transit Center,Vail, Colorado
Weather: ❑ Sunny Cloudy ❑ Rain ❑ Snow Temp: 45°F±
Construction Activities/Observations: Field engineer arrived on site, as requested, to observe the material exposed
in the excavation for the continuous footing for the ECO Building along Gridline C.O, 14'-4" West of Gridlines 1.0 to
8.0.
The excavation varied in depth from approximately 15 to 18 feet from the adjacent ground surface. The material
exposed in the base of the excavation consisted of a natural pink to light brown, moist, dense, gravelly sand with some
scattered cobbles. Neither ponded water nor organic materials were observed in the base of the excavation.
Based on our observations, it is our opinion that the subgrade for the continuous footing for the ECO Building along
Gridline C.O, 14'-4"West of Gridlines 1.0 to 8.0 has been properly prepared and has met project specifications.

Construction Activities/Observations: Field engineer arrived on site, as requested, to observe the material exposed
in the excaation for the continuous footing along Gridlines E-B to E-E, 15' West of E-1.
The excaation varied in depth from approximately 6 to 18 inches from the adjacent ground surface. The material
exposed in the base of the excavation consisted of a tan, brown, moist, dense, slightly silty sand with scattered cobbles.
Neither ponded water nor organic materials were observed in the base of the excavation.
Based on our observations, it is our opinion that the subgrade for the continuous footing along Gridlines E B to E-E, 15'
West of E-1 has been properly prepared and has met project specifications.
