The area was excavated to grade from Gridline E-E.0 to Gridline D.O but had not been compacted. The soils exposed in the lowest area were not wet and just needed to be compacted. However, at the first step up and on, the soils in this area were wet and very soft between GridlinesD.O andD.S. The contractor proposes to remove approximately 2 feet of the material, place geogrid, and then bacicfill with suitable material. No moisture and density testing was performed during this site visit.
