Town Engineer Report#: 65 Sheet: 1 of 1
Department of Public Works/Transportation
1309 Elkhorn Drive
Vail,Colorado 81657
Project: Lionshead Transit Center,Vail, Colorado
Weather: Sunny ❑ Cloudy ❑ Rain ❑ Snow Temp: 46°F±
Construction Activities/Observations: Field engineer arrived on site, as requested, to perform moisture and density
testing below the western-most retaining wall.
The area was excavated to grade from Gridline E-E.0 to Gridline D.O but had not been compacted. The soils
exposed in the lowest area were not wet and just needed to be compacted. However, at the first step up and on, the
soils in this area were wet and very soft between GridlinesD.O andD.S.
The contractor proposes to remove approximately 2 feet of the material, place geogrid, and then bacicfill with suitable
material.
No moisture and density testing was performed during this site visit.
