Weather: ❑ Sunny Cloudy ❑ Rain ❑ Snow Temp: 29° - 36°F±
Construction Activities/Observations: Field engineer arrived on site, as requested, to observe 3/4 inch rock placed
against the foundation wall between Gridlines B-GO-8 and E-A/E-9.8 to E-13 (S 101).
The contractor was in the process of placing approximately 11 feet of 3/4 inch rock in the area. The first lift was
approximately 1.5 feet. Field engineer informed fie contractor to place approximately 8 inch lifts unless a bigger
tamping plate was used. The 3/4 inch rocic below the electrical conduits were placed and compacted to approximately
28 inches from the bottom of the conduits. The remainder of the space will have loose 3/a inch rock, as it is not
accessible by tamping plate. Some flowfill will be placed, according to the contractar. The 3/4 inch rock that was
compacted was medium dense. Field engineer observed rock placement to a depth of approximately 5 feet.
