Please Note: because of false alarm issues during the demo, AK Electric — Butch Bruno
temporarily wired the units for heat detection and Andy Polar SG Technician reprogrammed the
FACP.
Scope of Work Job Site is located at the Lodge at Vail Units 522 and 523. Based on the plans
dated 5 23 11 by SUMAN Architects the proposal is for SimplexGrinnell(SG) to provide
equipment, programming and testing for the following tasks that are the responsibility of
SimplexGrinnell:
SG will provide 81/2X11 Unit Drawings for the new device locations including speaker, CO
sensor and smoke detectors. Existing devices will be reused. Currently Unit 522 has 4 smoke
and sounder bases plus 1 CO Detector and Unit 523 has 4 smoke and sounder bases plus 1 CO
Detector that will be re -used. Smoke detectors will be cleaned before using.
IDNET, 24vdc and speaker circuits were field tested for power capacity. Circuit capacity for the
devices to be added, is within FACP SG engineered specifications.
SRE or EC will be responsible for the project management and notifying the Lodge 24 hours
before performing Fire Alarm tests. SRE or EC will need to coordinate the project with the SG
Project Manager (PM) - Pete Herring 303 - 961 -9339.
The SG PM will be responsible for written and verbal communication to the Town of Vail Fire
Department.
Prior to construction:
1. Existing smoke detectors will be exchanged with heat detectors and programmed into the
Main FACP.
2. Test with the contractor
3. EC to provide a list of devices for 522 - 523 to the Engineering department Engineering
for Town of Vail Fire Department requirements of onsite Impairment List updates
During Construction:
1. EC will wire for relocated smoke detectors and sounder bases 24vdc and MAPNET
2. EC will wire for new and relocated speakers
3. EC will wire for new and relocated CO sensors with each to be monitored by an IAM
4. Call for a rough -in inspection
5. Programming will be to the main Node
Post construction:
1. SG will replace heat detectors with smoke detectors
2. Program Main Nodes and test
3. SG will call for the Final AHJ testing.
SRE or EC will be responsible for maintaining the smoke, heat and base devices that are on site
and in storage for this project.
