General Information:
Al projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. Please
refer to the submittal requirements for the particular approval that is requested. An application for Design Review
cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department. The
project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Planning and Environmental Commission.
Design review approval lapses unless a building permit is issued and construction commences within
one year of the approval.

Re: Necessary items for final review of proposed Young Residence addition located at
1452 Buffehr Creek Road /Lot 1, Ciiffside Subdivision
Mr. Macik,
This letter is being sent to inform you of several items which are necessary to complete
your application submittal for the Young Residence addition. I recently received your
final Design review application and found it to be deficient in regards to the following
items. The following bullet points identify questions by staff which need to addressed
and additional materials to accompanying the application.
• There will be a condition placed upon any Design Review approvals that the plat
be recorded prior to the submittal of building permits.
• The site will need to be staked prior to 12:00 p.m. on August 2, showing the area
and location of the addition.
• Provide a copy of a stamped survey.
• On sheets A1.1, A1.2, and A1.3 please remove the text that refers to "Lot 4
Ridge at Vail" and "Lot 1, 45,409 s.f. 1.042 acres" as they are no longer correct.
• On Sheets A1.1 and A1.2 please double check the line that delineates the
required setback. It appears that in the southeast corner of the site that a 15 foot
setback was drawn not a 20 -foot setback.
• On Sheet A1.3, Lighting Plan please show all external light fixtures on the
existing portion of the house as well.
• Please provide greater detail on the information used to determine the lowest
level deduction. Are the points identified on the floor plan the two end points
where the lowest level is completely below grade?
• Show snow storage on the site equal to 30% of unheated areas and 10% for
heated areas of the driveway.
• A new easement needs to be recorded which eliminates the right of owners of
Lots 2, 3, and 6 access to the portion of road on Lot 1. This needs to be resolved
as the area converted back to landscaping is needed in order to comply with the
landscaping requirement.
Public Works Department Comments:
• No retaining walls shall exceed a height of six feet.
• Show slope and spot elevations on driveway.
• Show required parking on the plans.
Please review these comments and if you have any questions regarding this letter
please contact me at 970 - 479 -2148. In order to be scheduled on the August 2, Design
Review Board agenda I need to have the above items satisfactorily address by no later
than July 28, 2006, at 12:00 p.m.

Should the DRB choose to approve the addition to the Young Residence, Staff
would request that the following conditions be placed upon that approval.
