Page 16 of 16 shows a 3 inch in -line Wilkins Z3004 PRV. The letter trom Fr( Sept 15, 2008 indicates under item # 2, that PRV's will be eliminated from the sti Either remove the PRV or provide an engineered explanation of why it is there. Thf do not indicate the minimum and maximum flows and pressures. No material cut sheet provided. 2. Material cuts sheets were provided but nothing on the plans or notes indicate the location of heavy fittings, Schedule 10 or Schedule 40 pipe or other relevant materials cut sheet for the Mega Flow does not indicate class or pressure ratings 3. Additional discussion is needed on the hydraulics for the fire pump. The cz provided for the final design indicate 100 psi will be available at the top FHV. '. appendices of NFPA 14, 2007 edition, Section A 7.8, discusses options fire departs use for high rise fire hose configurations. Vail Fire Dept. does in fact use the . example, 50 ft of 2 % inch, a wye and two 100 ft sections of 1 % in hose. Credit i fire hose length at 200 ft. The length of the fire hose would be restricted to 151 the current scenario. Demand pressures are calculated to be 120 149 psi. Nothing in the current plan for the temporary standpipe would need to be changed : of the outcome of the pending discussion on the hydraulics. The 3" pressure reducing valve should not be shown on the temporary standpipe draN PRV is because the expansion tanks for the anti - treeze systems require the pressu: reduced to 125 PSI. 2. The schedule 40 pipe will be used on pipe sizes 1 thru 2 pipe and the schedule be used on pipe sizes 2 thru 8 ". The mega tlow pipe will be used in 2 -1/2" thru sizes only. The series S00 grooved fittings and couplings will be used on all pip( 1" thru 8 ". The lowest pressure rating on the grooved couplings is 300 PSI which I exceed the system pressure. The threaded titting will be ductile iron tittings in thru 2 -1/2" and are all rated at 300 PSI. 3.
