Frontage Rd which occur very frequently throughout the day(50-60 times per day): The contractors estimate of Daily traffic loads are estimated as follows: * Excavation trucking utilizes approximately one (1) truck every ten (10) minutes. (End Dumps) * Precast deliveries utilize approximately six(6) trucks per day. (WB-50 to WB-67 size) * Concrete pours (not backing onto site) utilize approximately ten (10) trucks per day on small pours and forty (40) trucks per day on large pours. * Miscellaneous deliveries (not backing onto site) utilize approximately one truck per day but will increase as construction advances. With the High Summer Tourist season fast approaching we have told them to implement a plan which allows them to use there own site, behind concrete barriers, to back into their excavation. This will take care of 85-90% of the tr�cks. They will have some trucks with lengths up to 80' that will have to have special accommodations and need to back off the Frontage Rd. which will be scheduled appropriately. The new proposed plan requires a slight modification to their currently approved construction access plan. It will require moving concrete barriers out closer to the Frontage Rd., maintaining a 2' asphalt shoulder, and allowing the large trucks to enter via their northern most entrance at W. Lionshead Circle. Flaggers will still be present at the entrances to assist the trucks when needed but Frontage Rd traffic will always have right of way.This operation is planned to end by winter season so at that time the barriers can be moved back to allow for snow storage. In order to facilitate this, we have requested they begin to make this transition so it is operational by July 3rd. Attached is a copy of the approved construction access plan showing the actual truck backing movements which requires a full stop of all Frontage Rd traffic(50-60 times a day). Also attached is a copy of the redlined proposed revision that eliminates 85%-90% of the trucks backing off the Frontage Rd., as well as a truck turning movement diagram which has some redlines. The Town feels strongly that the elimination of the majority of Frontage Rd backing is a huge safety improvement and improvement of general public traffic flow. Please let me know if you feel this is inappropriate direction. We would like to formalize this modification to the existing permit.
