Quite a difference in price! Just to give you an update, the board has not
been able to meet on this due to schedule conflicts but we have been able to
communicate via email. At this point we do not have a problem who you use
to build the sheds. The front shed or locker is not a problem, we would
like to meet as a board to discuss the rear shed. To my knowledge there is
not one in existence yet and we would like to have a standard on size,
placement and etc. before approving one. The size of your proposal is
probably not a problem, there are some water issues from the units above
that could propose a problem depending on the placement. The very top units
do not have roofs that cover the entire patio and therefore the water flows
down to all units below, thus creating a water issues. I thought I saw in
one of the email strings that you were interested in doing the front one now
and the rear one later, is that true? Otherwise we should have an answer
for you by next middle of next week.

I now have bids from both LMS Construction and Ankerholz for the ski
lockers. I have attached both bids and associated docs to this email for
your review. The architectural sketches are from LMS Construction. I
provided these to Ankerholz to ensure an apples-to-apples comparison.
The summary of the bids is:
LMS: $2,755
Ankerholz: $3,746 (plus door hardware)
Net/Net, the Ankerholz bid is 36% higher which I think is rather significant
but pretty much in line with what I saw when I had them bid on the interior
remodel work. While they have been very responsive in bidding, they may
just have more overhead to cover? Given this disparity, I'm looking for
some guidance on options. If you would like to stop by and take a look at
the work LMS did on the interior of the unit to get a sense for their
quality and craftsmanship, I'd be happy to arrange something. They are
really a great outfit. Is there anything else LMS or I can do to provide
assurances that they would build the lockers the same as the others using
the same material, stain and any other fixtures to match the rest of the
building? I have no concerns at all having worked with them on more complex
projects - but want to make sure you are all O.K. with whatever choice is
made.
