The use of the Alpine 3000 system has been reviewed with Alpine Snow Guard representatives for use with specific snow loads and roof exposure for the proposed use with the following comments: • The existing standing seam SS blocks that support the#33 snow guards will accept the#3000 pipe-styfe snow guard. They would recommend replacing the#33's at the eave with the#3000 system. The#3000 pipe retainers will bolt to the SS blocks at the same location as the#33 guards. The pipes can span up to 48" but the spacing of the existing blocks should only be 32". • With the existing#33 snow guards up the slope,should only need the pipe- style guard at the eave to capture the shallower snows that are not engaging with the#33 guards.Heavier snows should engage with the#33's. If the problem persists,an additional two rows of pie-style guards could be fnstalled at third points up the slope again using the existing S5 blocks. • One flag should be installed at each pan along the length of the pipes. • Installing metal, pad mounted guards at the pan in lieu of the pipe-style guards is also an option but,the pad mounted guards do fail over time.
