Attached is the report far the asbestos survey and bulk sampling of suspected asbestos-
containing building materials at 385 GOre C reek Driv2, Units 301 & 302, Vail,
Colorado.
The results of this survey are limited to materials that were assessable and foreseeable.
Additional materials may exist behind hard surfaces. Personnel knowledgeable of
asbestos containing materials should always oversee demolition activities. Demolition
work should be halted and sampling performed by a state of Colorado licensed building
inspector if additional materials, which are suspected of containing asbestos, are
encountered.

BULK SAMPLING REPORT
385 Gore C reek D rive, Units 301 & 302, Vail, Colorado
Introduction:
On F e b r u a ry 1, 2012, Boulder Environmental Management, Inc.'s building inspector,
M a r k Sy m m a n k, conducted bulk samnlin of suspected asbestos-containin� materials
under the direction of our client.
Sampling:
During the sampling process, suspect ACM was separated into three EPA categories.
These categories are thermal system insulation (TSI), surfacing ACM, and miscellaneous
ACM. TSI includes all materials used to prevent heat loss or gain or water condensation
on mechanical systems. Examples of TSI are pipe coverings, boiler insulation, duct
wrap, and mud packed fitting cement. Surfacing ACM includes all ACM that is sprayed,
trowelled, or otherwise applied to a surface. These applications are most commonly used
in fireproofing, decorative and acoustical applications. Miscellaneous materials include
all ACM not listed in the thermal system insulation or surfacing categories, such as
linoleum, vinyl asbestos flooring, and ceiling tile.
Boulder Environmental Management, Inc. followed EPA recommended sampling
guidelines for identification of asbestos in bulk matrices. A set of one (1), three (3), five
(5), or seven (7) samples were collected for each material type and analyzed by Polarized
Light Microscopy (PLM). Each sample set was systematically analyzed. Upon
determination that a sample in a set contained asbestos, analysis of the remaining samples
in the set was discontinued. If no asbestos was detected during the analyses, the suspect
material was determined to be negative for asbestos content.

contained 1% asbestos or less. The Environmental Protection Agency and the state of Colorado
Deparhnent of Public Health and Environment do not regulate materials that have an overall
asbestos content of 1% or less. However, Occupational Safety and Health Administration
regulations apply to workers handling the material.
The following materials were analyzed and determined to be non asbestos-containing
utilizing polarized light microscopy (PLM).

Discussion:
Sample analyses results are reported in percentages of asbestos and non-asbestos
components. The EPA defines any material that contains greater than one percent (1%)
asbestos, utilizing PLM, as being an asbestos containing material. Materials that are
identified as"none detected" are specified as not containing asbestos.
Conclusion:
The Trowel textured drywall system in unit 302 does not contain asbestos.
The following materials in unit 301 were determined to contain one percent asbestos
Of I@SS (further analyzed by point count method):
Rough textured drywall system throughout the condo
Stomp textured drywall system throughout the condo
Workers disturbing materials that contain 1% asbestos or less must be OSHA trained and
follow OSHA handling guidelines while handling and disposing such materials.
The results of this survey pertain only to materials tested. 'The laboratory reports
