inthescopeofChapter17.Followingarethegeneral proceduresthatwillbeutilizedfortheseprovisions.1.Site -S pecificSpecialInspectionRequirements A.TheDesignProfessional(s)shallsubmit astatementof specialinspection s compliant withChapter 17oftheInternationalBuildingCode.(IBC1705)TheSpecialInspection Statementshallincludeanyadditionalspecialinspectionsasspecifiedinthesitespecific designdocuments.B.Ownero r owner’sagentshallsubmitalistofspecialinspectorstobe usedtocomply withthespecialinspectionprogramforapproval.Thelistofspecialinspectorsshallalso includethequalificationsofthespecialinspectors.(IBC1704.1.1)2.SpecialInspectionReportsRequired A.Ownersorowner’sagentshallsubmitar ecommendedreportsubmittalscheduletothe BuildingOfficialforapprovalpriortothestartofconstruction.B.Finalreportofspecialinspectionrequired.(IBC1704.1.2)3.DuringConstruction (IBC1704.1.2)A.Contractor(s)mustnotifyspecialinspectors whenworkisreadyforinspectionandretain inspectionreports.B.Reportsofspecialinspectionsmustbeprovide d totheBuildingOfficialpriortothe applicableinspectionsbeingrequestedbythecontractorasrequiredbythecodes.No requiredinspecti onswillbemadeuntilallapplicablespecialinspectionsreport s have beenreceived.C.Specialinspector(s)mustnotifythecontractorANDdesignprofessional(s)inresponsible charge,offielddiscrepanciesobservedduringinspections.D.Allfielddiscrepa nciesobservedduringspecialinspectionsmustberesolved,and applicablereportsindicatingsuchmustbesubmittedtotheBuildingOfficialpriortoany requiredinspectionsbeingapprovedbythejurisdiction.E.Routineconstructioninspectionsotherwise requiredbythecodemuststillbeperformed attheappropriatestagesofconstruction.(IBC109)F.CertificatesofOccupancy/TemporaryCertificatesofOccupancywillnotbeissueduntil allrequiredspecialinspectionsareapproved,requiredprogressrep ortsandfinalreports ofSpecialInspectionswithsealandoriginalsignaturesarereceivedbytheBuilding Official.-1- SPECIALINSPECTORAPPROVALPROCESS ThebuildingregulationsoftheTownofVailrequirespecialinspectionsfortypesofwork specifiedunderChapter17oftheInternationalBuildingCodebeperformedbyindividuals approvedbytheBuildingOfficial.TheBuildingOfficialwillissueapprovalineachspecial inspectionclassificationrequiredtobeperformed.(IBC1703.1)1.Requi redFormsandDocuments A.Therequireddocumentsshallbesubmittedbyallapplicantsfornewandadditional approvalsasSpecialInspector.B.Allapplicantsmustprovideverificationthattheyhavecurrentcertificationsaslistedon theQualificationofSp ecialInspector.C.Anapplicant shall submitastatement -of -qualificationsfromaRegisteredDesign Professional(Engineer,ArchitectwhohasthecertificationslistedinQualificationof SpecialInspectors)thathasdirectsupervisionoftheapplicant;l is tingtheapplicant’s educationandexperience.D.Theapprovalofthestatement -of -qualificationsfromtheRegisteredDesignProfessional isuptothediscretionoftheBuildingOfficialbaseduponthereviewoftheapplicant’s educationandexperienceandt heRegisteredDesignProfessional’sexperienceand education.TheBuildingOfficialhasthediscretionofrequestingadditionalspecific experiencedocumentationfromtheapplicantandtheRegisteredDesignProfessionalas isdeemednecessary.(seeAppend ixCforminimumqualif
