The Town of Vail asbestos abatement program is in addition to the State of Colorado's regu- lations. It is your responsibility [o be in [omplianre with the State. ANY building projects disturbing more than these threshold levels of building materials require asbestos testlng: One-and Two-Family Dwellings: 32 square feet All Others (commercial spaces, hotel rooms, etc): 160 square feet Definition of a singlrfamily dwelling: any dwelling unit that is used primarily for a single family, including multi-family/condominium unitr, and fractional fee units. Asbestos testing results must be provided with your application for a building permit. Tests which identify POSITNE results at more than 1% require abatement by a State-rertified and Vail-registered aba[e- ment contractor. An asbestos abatement pertnit must be approved, and the dearance letter must be submitted to [he Town of Vail before the building permit will be issued.
