From: Bill Gibson [mailto:BGibson@vailgov.com] Sent: Friday, April 20, 2012 4:17 PM To: 'benno@vailcustom.com' Subject: B12-0023 Lapin Residence construction sign Hey Benno, I left a voicemail message on your cell phone earlier this afternoon, but wanted to follow-up on this item in an email as well. It has come to our attention that two freestanding construction signs have been erected at the Lapin Residence construction site. Pursuant to Section 11-7-13: Construction Signs, Vail Town Code, and the approval of design review application #DRB120030, only one construction sign is allowed at this construction site. Additionally, the one construction sign can not be freestanding and must instead be mounted to the construction fence. For your records, please find attached a copy of the design review approval for the Lapin Residence construction sign that was sent to Ted Leach, Vail Custom Builders, on February 23rd. Also for your reference, below are the construction sign provisions of Title 14, Sign Regulations, Vail Town Code: 11-7-13: CONSTRUCTION SIGNS: A. Description: A sign permitted to identify and describe a project under construction and the associated hazardous conditions. 1. Size: Any construction sign shall not exceed twenty (20) square feet, with a horizontal dimension no greater than ten feet (10'). 2. Height: The top of a sign shall be no higher than eight feet (8') from grade. 3. Number: One sign per site. 4. Location: A wall mounted sign shall be placed parallel to the exterior wall adjacent to the street or major pedestrianway which the building abuts and shall be subject to design review. If no wall exists for sign to be placed, the sign may be mounted on the construction fence. 5. Lighting: Not permitted. 6. Special Provisions: Construction signs shall be removed prior to the issuance of a temporary certificate of occupancy. 7. Content: Only the following text shall be included on construction signs with no other content permitted a. Project name. b. Building permit number. c. Contact information. Only one name, one phone number and one e-mail address shall be permitted. d. Physical address. Please contact me via email or at 479-2173 so that we can discuss the timeframe for resolving this issue.
