Plumbing Drawings:
There is an existing expansion tank and emergency shutoffs. These items will be
replaced along with PRV and back flow preventer per separate submittal from Eagle
River Water & Sanitation District regulations letter dated December 6, 2012, (see
attachment A).
Mechanical Drawings:
1. Per Heat & Glo Manufacturer recommendations, all clearances of flue pipes to be
2 inches. Unit clearance is "zero clearance." The fireplace chases are not
considered to be fire rated shaft walls, as the boiler vent is within a reconstructed 2-
hour rated shaft, (see attachments B and C).
3. The gas appliance fireplace to be installed on all (10) units is the Heat & Glo 6000
C series, rated at 30,000 maximum Btu's /Hour input. This is not a gas log set. All
fireplaces shall have a fixed timer shutoff to reduce emissions and improve safety.
4. Discharge fireplace flue pipe exhaust to be 3 ft from building openings as
required by code.
Electrical Drawings:
1. Scope of work in the (10) units with fireplaces to include load determination of
each circuit of the connection to fireplace blower.
2. Boiler room circuit and breakers to be replaced to meet manufacturer's
recommendations for new boilers and venting appurtenances. All work to be called
for inspection by the Town of Vail building department.
3. All other building electrical work, interior or exterior, shall not be inspected by
Brock Consulting or Town of Vail for compliance in any code, and shall not be
modified or changed in any manner.

Reviewed and accepted by Town of Vail.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Contacted Mike Vaughan, Fire Marshall at 970 - 479 -2252. Buffehr Creek is under
contract with Deb Shaner, P.E. for RF fire alarm system design and will be

Asbestos Testing & Abatement Requirements
Asbestos testing and abatement protects workers, homeowners, neighbors and emergency services responders from ex-
posure to harmful asbestos. It is your responsibility to be in compliance with the State. Please contact the State directly
for their requirements at the contact info listed below.
When is asbestos testing required?
ANY building projects disturbing more than these threshold levels of building materials require asbestos testing:
One- and Two - Family Dwellings: 32 square feet
All Others (commercial spaces, hotel rooms, etc): 160 square feet
Definition of a single - family dwelling: any dwelling unit that is used primarily for a single family, including
multi - family /condominium units, and fractional fee units.
Asbestos testing results must be provided with your application for a building permit.
Tests which identify POSITIVE results at more than 1% require abatement by a State - certified abatement contractor. The
clearance letter must be submitted to the Town of Vail before the building permit will be issued.
