undetgone numelous changes and rcvisions, strivlng fior oomplomise, yet effiectiveness in addressing
the air quality issue. Thercbre the fiollowing cribria has been adopted:
o Constntction of open hearth wood burning fircplaces is no longer permltbd within Town of Vail
munlclpal bouny'arieo.
Dwelllno Units - Each new dwelling unft may oontain:
One (1) EPA PhasoIIcertified solid fud burning devlceand no morelfian turo(2)gasappliane

OR
Tryo (2) gas lo9 fircplaes and no morc than two (2) gas appliance fircplaes (B bent).
Rectricbd Dwellino Unlts - Each new restrichd dwelling unit may aontain:
One (1) gas log fireplaoe and not more than ohe (1) gas appliane fircplaoe.
Aoommodatioil Units - Each new acoommodation unit may contaln:
One (1) gao log fircplace or one (1) gas appliane fircplace.
If two or more sepante dwelling units oracommodation units are combined b form one targer
unit, the oombined unit may rctain one woodbuming fireplace (if one already exists) and no morc
than 2 gns appllance fircplaces, or may conyeft up to two existing fircplaces to gas.
