to write concerning an apparant slight variance from a building standard
with regard to a stairway in the addition to the residence at 5166 Gore
Circle, Vajl.
As relates to th'i s stairvay, I hereby indemnify the Town of Vail against
any liability that may arise because of the way in which this stairway
was designed and constructed. I further certify that I arn the owner

On reguest from l,lr. R. tr. Spurvayr owrrer of the above referenced property, I have nade vlsual Lnspectlon of the open foundation excavatlon and have designed the foundation and column footere using a 2000 psf soil bearing presaure.
The foundat6on wall spread. footing shall be 20 inches widle and 8 inches thick and shall be conat-ructed of 3000 psl concrete, minlmurn. No refnforc-lng steel will be reguLred, however, the olrner has indl-cated he plans to place two each I 4 bars horizontally. ?his procedure is acceptable, and the bars do not have to be continous,
The lnterior eoJ-umn footers shall be 2,-6" sguare pads, 8 inches thLck. The * 4 bars Ln a box pattern will also be acceptable on these footers, however they are not reguired.

by the Des'ign Review Board at its June .l5, .1983 neeting:
a) Application Form b) Floor Plans (2 copies)
c) Elevations (2 copies)d) Sections A thru D (l copy each)
The plans have been revised to show a different roof'l ine which I believe wil'l be more
satisfactory to the Board. The Master Bedroom on the first f'loor and the Loft area on
the second f'l oor have been extended by 2 feet, adding a total of 26 5.F. to each floor.
The new square footage of 642 SF has been revised on the application.
I hope these changes are sufficient to obtain favorable Design Review Board action at
the June 29, 1983 meeting. Pentti Tofferi will attend the meeting for me. Please let
me know if any additiona'l information is required.
