Dear Mr. Sayre:
On August 31, 1983 the Design Review Board approved the
above additions. On September 2, I9B3 you wrote to me indi-
cating that one 12' spruce and two 8' spruce should be planted
on my property to replace trees lost on account of the addj--
tioni lnd thal everv effort should be made to save the exist-
ing trees.
We have been successful in saving the existing trees
mentioned and I have purchased from Planters of Vail and am
having planted one 12' spruce and three 8' spruce on the
site. fn addition, I have already planted a number of juni-
pers and prunus and golden elder bushes and intend to put in
some more this coming weekend.
I have had top soil spread on the construction areas and
planted both mountain grass seed and a ground cover which T
hope will thrive. The entire planting area has been spread
with hay and it is being watered at reasonable intervals.
I believe this should more than meet my obligations
with respect to the Town of Vail as outlined in your letter
of September 2, 1983. I invite you to stop by and see what
r have done at vour convenience.

Peter Jamar showed the site p1an. Ron Todd, representing the Mountain school
showed a topo and explained that when they applied for the permit, they didn't
have a topo of the site. }Jhen they saw the steepness, they weren't sure they
wanted to spend the money to leve'l the ground over such a large area, but would perhaps level a smaller area.
Donovan stated that she would like the school to go for the full size field, as long as they kept the berm. Pierce, speaking as a member of the board of the Mtn
School , stated that they would like to increase the field while not asking for a specific area.
Viele mqyed and Morgan seconded to approve the amended request as per the staff
memo. The vote was 5 in favor with Pierce and Corcoran abstaininq.
