Dear Diane:
During our phone conversation a few weeks ago, you asked me to write you a reminder
note explaining my need for a minor alteration permit. My home at L3O7 Vail Valley
Drive had a pair of porcupines who stripped and killed seven pine trees in the winter of
2004 . I had left them, hoping they might survive, but as you can see from the enclosed
photos, they are all dead or dying.
Unfortunately I also need to remove the aspen tree in the enclosed photo, as it is not only
keeping snow pushed up against the building, but also pushing up the roofshingles and
flashing and causing heavy leaking into the room below. I already have to replace one
entire wall and a large area of carpet, as well as replace the shingles, waterproofing,
flashing, etc. on the roof.
Please let me know if I need to do anything further. I assume you will mail the permit to
me at my mailing address on the application. I appreciate your help.
