Due to the fact that egress cennot be achieved from this rcomrthis area cannot be used for
sleeping purposes. The mininum requirements for light and ventilation referenced in the
l99l Uniform Building Code section 1205 need to be addressed and adhered to,as it will
be considered habitable space.

are requesting some changes in their remodel project. They want to convert their ski
storage to a security personnel lounge, and add a door into the ski bath. (See attached
drawing)
I have conf,rrmed the proposed door is in a non-bearing wall. Therefore, we will proceed
with installation of the door.
We are also sending a letter to Mr. Bass informing him that the Town of Vail building
code does not allow a bedroom in the space proposed as the security personnel lounge
due to egress, light and ventilation requirements.

The first four itelrs aIl nelate to the last Truss A to the southi betr.reen the 6reat Room and the l'laster Bedroon,
One of the top chords at the east end stops short of the corner of the buildinq.
Once the fireplace r,rall is framed in belour this taIl, a triple joist should be installed under the bearing location, Also the other top chord at this end
r,rhich is on the exterior of t,he building has not yct been lagged to the r,lall studs. This can be done from inside to outside to hide thc bolts.
The long exterior tall at the tresi end of this truss presently is beaning on only one stud. The rer'rainder of this pack-out should be installed.
Tr.ro of the rafters from the south that hang off of this tnuss have been notched
excessively to fit around the top chord, An A35 franing anchor should be inEtalled on both sides of the top portion of these rafters, connecting then to thlE too chord.
The horizontal braces uhich support the extcrlon roof ovcrhangs al the other tuo 'A' Trusses have not yet been lagged to the exterior r.lalls. Additional blocking and lags are nequired.
The plyr,rood sheathing has not yet been lnstal led f on thc shean r,rall at the rear of the garage .
