Dear Sirs:
As required by the Rules and Regulations of 9 vail Road condominiums, Joseph and Rhoda
Kaplan, owners of Unit '13 at 9 Vail Road condominiums, recorded as Holiday ilouse
Condominiums Unit 1D, have notified the Board of Directors and the Property Manager, Sierra
Management, of their desire to:
1 - enclose a loft bedroom, add.a door at the top of the loft stairs, remove closet doors, possible
installation of additional electrical oullet on new wall if required by code
2 - remove 2 interior doors on main level
The Board of Directors has approved this application. The property Manager will monitor
compliance with association requirements which include:
1 - any permits necessary from the Town of Vail are obtained
2 - intemal procedures for protection of the building, utilities and common areas are followed
3 - work does not interfere with seasonal rental activity
4 - any 'Winfield lock" hardware on the internal doors removed during this work is returned to the
association inventory

Dear Allison,
My wife and I wish to combine condominiums #31 and #32 at9 Vail Road Condominiums into a
single condominium. Based on my conversation with Judy Rodriguez, I understand that no DRB
or PEC reviews are required, but that we should send you a letter with our intentions and a copy
of our plans. Basically, we will remove a cornmon wall befween the condos, combine the two
kitchens and move one interior doorway to improve traffic flow within our unit.
In addition, we will be purchasing some 23 square feet of common space from our condominium
Association to relocate our main entrance. This will be done in a later phase of our project and
we will submit the appropriate request at that time.
I am attaching a drawing and you will receive a letter from our property manager stating that our
Association has approved our plan. Please call me if you need any additional information.

Dear Mr. Rick Scalpello:
At your request we have reviewed your original building drawings to determine if the
exiiting wail bet*een Units #3t & #32 can be removed. As you explained to us, Units
ffi1 &792 correspond respectively to Units 38 & 3C on the third floor as indicated on the
original construction drawings.
In the area where the subject wall is located, the structure above and below is framed with
hollow core precast planks at the floors, bearing onto steel beams and steel columns.
We believe that the wall is not structural. Therefore, it is our opinion that it is structurally
acceptable to remove the subject wall.
