All of the advantages found in copper as a metal have been capitalized to the utmost in the manufacture of NIBCO Fittings. Because
of the accuracy of construction and design,copper plumbing is more efficient and less expensive.
NIBCO manufactures nine general types of fittings:Wrot Pressure; Cast Pressure;Wrot Drainage; Cast Drainage; Flanges; Flared
Tube;Threaded Bronze; Insert Fittings for PEX; Barbed Insert Fittings for Polybutylene. Each has its particular place and use and each
offers its own advantages when used for the proper service requirement.
ALLOY AND FINISH NIBCO Fittings are made from highest quality raw materials available—Cast Fittings are made from Copper
Alloy C84400 which consists of 81% Copper,7% Lead,3%Tin,and 9%Zinc per ASTM Specification B584.Wrot Copper Fittings are
made from commercially pure copper mill products per ASTM Specifications B75 Alloy C12200.
NIBCO fittings are produced to meet requirements of applicable standards wherever practicable.
NIBCO brand wrot and cast fittings are manufactured in the U.S.A. and Mexico.The manufacturing plants at Stuarts Draft,VA,

TYPICAL INSTALLATION
Local codes shall govern installation requirements. Unless otherwise specified, the assembly shall be mounted in ac-
cordance with the manufacturers' instructions and the latest edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The assembly shall
be installed with sufficient side clearance for testing and maintenance. The Model 500 may be installed in any position.
If installed in a pit or vault, specify the "SC" sealed cage option. Multiple installations are recommend for wide demand
variations or where the desired pressure reduction is more than 4 to 1 (i.e.: 200 psi inlet reduced to 50 psi outlet).
CAUTION:Anytime a reducing valve is adjusted, a pressure gauge must be used downstream to verify correct pressure
setting. Do not bottom adjustment bolt on bell housing.

SPECIFICATIONS
The Pressure Reducing Valve shall consist of a bronze body and bell housing, a separate access cover for the plunger
and a bolt to adjust the downstream pressure. The bronze bell housing and access cap shall be threaded to the body
and shall not require the use of ferrous screws. The assembly shall be of the balanced piston design and shall reduce
pressure in both flow and no-flow conditions.The assembly shall be accessible for maintenance without having to remove
the body from the line. The Pressure Reducing Valve shall be a WILKINS Model 500.

1000 by providing both the test function and the express drain function in a multistory installation for a wet fire
sprinkler system, with the added feature of an integral Model 7000 Pressure Relief Valve with drainage piping.
• The Model 1011A complies with the requirements of NFPA-13 that stipulate a pressure relief valve be installed
on all gridded systems and downstream of all pressure reducing valves (see reverse).
• The Model 1011A TESTaNDRA1N° is a compact single handle ball valve which includes a tamper resistant
test orifice and integral tamper resistant sight glasses, and is 300 PSI rated.
• Available in a full range of sizes from 3/a" to 2" NPT and BSPT, with all specifiable orifice sizes 3/s" (2.8K), '/,s"
(4.21�, �/z" (5.6K), "/sz" (8.OK), 5/a" (11.2K, ELO), 3/a" (14.OK, ESFR), and K25 as required by NFPA 13, 2007 Edi-
tion (see reverse).
• The included UVFM Model 7000 Pressure Relief Valve features a flushing handle and is factory rated for 175
PSI. Other pressure settings are available and may be substituted.
• Designed to relieve excess system pressure caused by surges or temperature changes as well as solve the dif-
ficult problem of providing the relief valve with a convenient drainage-piping outlet.
• Shipped with relief valve and bypass drain ports plugged to expedite pressure testing the system.
• A locking kit is available and can be ordered with the valve to provide vandal resistance or prevent uninten-
tional alarm activation.
• Repair kits including (1) adapter gasket, (1) ball, (2)valve seats, (1) stem packing, and (1) stem washer are avail-
able for all TESTaNDRA1N°valves. Valve and orifice size must be specified when ordering.
NOTE: It is important to note that the pressure rating of the relief valve indicates an operating range of pressure for both opening and
closing of the valve. Standard relief valves are required to OPEN in a range of pressure between 90%and 105%of their rating.The valves
are required to CLOSE at a pressure above 80%of that rating.The relief valve should be installed where it is easily accessible for main-
tenance. Care should be taken that the relief valve CANNOT be isolated from the system when the system is operational.A relief valve
should NEVER have a shutoff valve or a plug downstream of its outlet.
