The following are responses to the structural items to be addressed from the letter dated 6 -21 -12 from
Mr. Martin Haeberle of the Town of Vail building department.
Structural Sheet S1:
1) Please see revised comment on sheet S1, requiring special inspection for field welds.
Structural Sheet S2:
1) Snow retention is to be handled via snow clips placed on roof per manufacturer's recommendation and
engineer's review, see new note on roof plan, sheet S2.
2) N/A
3) Upper Floor plan on sheet S2 now shows outline of open trellis structure and general connection
instructions.

Architectural Comment Responses
Sheet A1.0
• The Occupancy and building types have been added with
add' I reference to the 2009 IRC Section R302.2.2 Parapets
where parapets can be eliminated where "roof surfaces
adjacent to the wall or walls are at different elevations and
the higher roof is more than 30 inches above the lower roof.
The common wall construction from the lower roof to the
underside of the higher roof deck shall have not less than 1
hour fire resistance rating. The wall shall be rated for exposure
from both sides ".
Sheet A2.0
• The barbecue hood, motor and flue have been replaced
with prefabricated components designed specifically for use
with outdoor grills.
• Notes have been added identifying proposed United
Laboratories Fire Resistive Assemblies for new north and south
walls as well as new floor /soffit construction.
Sheet A3.0
• Property lines have been indicated on both elevations and
sections (see sheet A4.1) .
• The U value for new glazed doors and windows (U.29) has
been noted on the west elevation.
