To Whom It May Concern::
It has been discovered that the existing 6x8 timber beam supporting the existing west deck at the above noted unit is
severely rotted from water damage. The contractor became aware of this situation when he removed the existing
decking in this area as part of the deck expansion for this project.
I have determined that this beam should be replaced with a new Doug-Fir #1 6x10 to meet current code
requirements.
