The purpose would be to determine our readiness to submit a Minor Exterior Alteration Application for Design Review by the Vail Design Review Board. The Sundial Townhomes Association proposes to change the exterior finish and appearance of the Sundial Townhomes from painted wood siding to a combination of stucco and rock exterior finish. In addition,we are going to extend the projection of horizontal and raked eaves on the roof structure as well as replace and upgrade the roof gutters and downspouts. New gable roofs will be added to five end units to protect the front door entrances. Grade level patio decks will receive new wrought iron guardrails and rock finished support columns. Most exterior decks will be re-decked with Trex Decking material and waterproofing will be updated and improved. Other than the five new entrance covers, no new additions to the existing structures will be added and no work is contemplated on the interiors of the townhomes, except for work that might be necessary to repair water damage. The existing eaves (horizontal and raked) have no overhang and these will be extended to get drip away from the structure. Structural loading required by the Town of Vail will be incorporated. The Sundial Townhomes are located at 540 Main Gore Place in East Vail. In attendance and representing the Sundial Townhomes Association, Inc.will be Mr. John Yapundich (jnyty @aol.com)and myself.
