We have been asked to verify the roof drain sizes shown on Sheet A1.5 due to the expansion of the deck at Unit 4. The existing deck size is 474 square feet and will be expanded by 58 square feet to a total proposed size of 532 square feet. Per the 2009 International Plumbing Code (IPC) Section 1106.2, vertical pipes serving the roof drains shall be a minimum of 2.” Per the 2009 IPC Section 1106.3, horizontal pipes serving the roof drains shall be a minimum of 3.” Any vertical pipe connected downstream of the horizontal pipes shall be the same size as the horizontal pipe or larger.
