Amendment to the 1999 N.E.C. Town of Vail Ordinance 10-1-6.
Overhead services are not allowed in the Town of Vail.
Underground services have to be in conduit (PVC) from the transformer to the electric meter, main disconnect
switch and to the first electrical distribution circuit breaker oanel.
The main disconnect switch shall be located next to the meter on the exterior wall of the structure easilv
accessible.
All underground conduits are required to be inspected before back-filling the trench.
In multi-family dwelling units, no electrical wiring or feeder cables shall pass from one unit to another. Common
walls and spaces are accepted.
NM Cable (Romex) is not allowed in commercial buildings or structures exceeding three (3) stories.
No use of aluminum wire smaller than size #8 will be permitted with the Town of Vail.
TOWN OF VAIL ELECTRICAL PERMIT GUIDELINES
All installations of exterior hot tubs or spa's require a DRB approval from planning. This application will
not be accepted without a copy of the DRB approval form attached (if applicable).
If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tub or spa on a new elevated platform or deck over
30" above grade, you must also obtain a building permit.
If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tuO or spa on any existing deck or elevated platform,
a structural engineer must review the existing condition and verifl/ that it will support the added
concentrated load. Please provide a copy of the structural engineers wet stamped letter or drawing
with this application.
If this is a remodel in a multi-family building with a homeowners association, a letter of permission
from the association is reouired.
o If this permit is for a commercial space, two (2) sets of stamped drawings are required.

Dear Andy,
I have just received a contract for the purchase of Spruce Park,
Unit F. This contracL is contingent upon two additions for which
I need the approval from the Town of Vail-. These are as foffows:
1. The parking area in front of building F to be
expanded by approximaLely 5 feet so that a
second car wi-I1 fit in front of this unit.
There is presently room for approximately L a/2
cars, therefore, an additj-onal approximately
5 feet should accomodate this need. The trees
and landscaping in t.hi-s area will remain the same/^'t
but will be pushed back to accomodate this addi- ( ,\lV'tional parkinq space
2. The second l-evel deck will be added on so that it
wraps around in front of the garage. As you may
recall, the original approved plans for the project
call-ed for a deck i-n this area. Thi-s should onlv
add additional i-nterest to this elevation.
The new owners of Unit G are presently in town and have asked if i-t
would be possible to change the area between units F and G to be
sod with a sprj-nkIer system, as opposed to shrubs with mulch. I
told them f would discuss this with you to see if that woul-d meet
your approval .
Andy, I woul-d l-i-ke to try and finish Lhe remaining items at Spruce
Park as soon as possible and appreciate your assistance in accomo-
dating trhese minor changes.
The potential new owners of Unit F have asked me
soon as possible, concerning the two adjustments
ed. I wilf be out of town this next week, but
anshrer any questions you may have.

Two minor adjustrnents are needed as to locations of trees from your October 4th letter (enclosed). Items I and 2 should be
rewritten as follows:
1. Two 2rr caliper aspen on the west side of Building D.2. One multi-stem aspen on the southwest corner of BuiLding C.
Andy, we had also discussed two minor changes concerning the site
and construction of Buj-ldings F & c. Please take this as a formal reguest to verify that these two adjustments meet with your
approval .
The first request was to add an exterior parking place in front of Building G, which would be adjacent to the parking space behind the garage. The second request lras to move the deck on Building F to the southeast side of the hone. We had d.iscussed both of these
changes previously, but f felt it was important to finalize then in writing.

on Thursday, september 30, 1993, we walked the Spruce Park site-and agreed that prior. to
issuance ol Gertificates ot o""rp"n"y (c.o.) for Buildings A, B, c, D, E and H, you would
plant the following trees:
1. Two, 2" caliper aspen on the east side of Building D;
2. One multi-siem aspen on the southeast corner ol Building C;
3. One, 2" caliper aspen to replace the two dead aspen in between Buildings A
and B;
4. one, 2" caliper aspen at least 12 feet tall, to be planted on the southside of
Building A;
5. one, new 2" caliper aspen to be planted on the north side of Building H;
6. Remove the three rocks on the rock wall that are higher than 6 feet;
7. Replace the aspen on the south side of Building E'
Once these Seven issues have been taken care of, please call me. lt is my understanding
that landscaping is the only outstanding item on these six buildings' Once these have been
planted, t wdulJ like to field verify them and then issue certificates of occupancy'
