Free water was encountered at Test Plt 3 at 7* feet.
FOUNDATI ON RECOHHENDATI ONS
We understand the proposed resldence wlll be a two-story frame
structure wlth a full basernent. Based on the proposed constructlon
and subsoll condltlons, we bel leve the most deslrable and safe type
foundatlon ls spread footlngs placed on the upper natural solls. The
fol lovllng deslgn and constructlon detalls should be observed:
(l) Footlngs placed on the natural sands and gravel should be deslgncd
for a maxlmum soll pressure of 5,000 psf. Under thls pressurc wc
estlmatc'total se.ttlement to be tolerable for resldentlal construct lon.
(2) Contlnuous foundatlon walls should be well relnforced top and
bottom to span rn unsupported length of at least l0 feet.
(:) Local soft pockets of soll found at footlng grade should be renpved
and footlngs extended to the lovler flrm solls. Care should bc
