In addition to meetj.ng submittal requirements, theapplicant must stake and tape the pioject site toindicate property lines, building lines and buildingcorners. A11 trees to be removed must be taped. A11site tapings and staking must be completed pi:_o, to the
DRB site visit. The applicant must ensure Lhat stakinqdone during the winter is not buried by snow.
The review process for NEW BUILDINGS normally requirestwo separate meetings of the Design Revj.ew Board: aconceptual. approval and a final approval . ApplicanLsshould plan on presenting their development pioposal ata minimum of two meetings before obtaining finalapproval.
Applj-cants who fail to appear before the Design ReviewBoard on their scheduled meeting date and who have notasked in advance that discussion on their item bepostponed, will have their items removed from the DRBdocket until such ti-me as the item has beenrepublished.
The following items may, at the discretion of thezoning administrator, be approved by the Communit.yDevelopment Department staff (i.e. a formal hearinobefore the DRB may not be required):
a. Windows, skylights and similar exterior chanseswhich do not alter the existing plane of thebuilding,' and
b. Building addition proposals not visible from anyother lot or public space. At the t.ime such aproposal is submitted, applicants must includefetters frorn adjacent propert.y owners and/or fromthe agent for or manager of any adjacent
condomj-nium association stating the associationapproves of the addit.ion.
If a propert,y is located in a mapped hazard area (i.e.
snow avalanche, rockfalI, flood pIain, debris flow,wetland, etc) r a hazard st.udy must be submitted and theowner must sj.gn an affidavit recognizing the hazardreport prior to the issuance of a buiLding permit.Applicant.s are encouraged to check with a Town plannerprior to DRB application to determine the relat.ionshipof the property to all mapped hazards.

Dear Ann:
The Town of Vail Community Development Department has reviewed your request for the
proposed exterior addition to your residence located at 1643 Matterhorn Circle. Upon review.,
stafi nas delermined the following issues need to be resolved or made conditions ol approval
prior to the issuance of a staff approval {or your project.
1. A compleled Geologic Hazard Review Form needs 1o be signed and submilted
to the Town of Vail Community Development Department'
2. The asphalt shingles that currently exist on the storage shed on your property
.
need to be replaced lo come inlo conformance with the Town of Vail Municipal
Code.
3. The exterior siding material on the existing storage shed is T-111' The use of
T-11 1 is no longei allowed in the Town ol Vail. Therelore, the exterior siding
on the storage shed must be replaced.
4. Indicale on the revised site plan the new localion of lhe existing storage shed'
5. Indicate on the revised site plan the proposed location of the landscaping
indicated on the landscape materials list.
6. The parking situation as it is currently proposed is unacceptable. The
agreement lor parking on the adjoining property needs to be a private
easement agreemenirecorded with Eagle County. An alternative to this option
would be to provide gll parking on-site. Either situalion would be acceplable to
slatf.
At lhis time, t'ne project's design has been granted staff approval. However, a building permit
cannot be released until such a time as when the above-mentioned issues have been
resolved.
