exclusively to the land above described.2' That the pernit is limited specifically to the type of structure described in this
aoplicalion.3. That the ap;ilicant shall notify the Town Manager, or his duly authorized agent, twenty-
four hours it'advance of the time forcommencement of construction, in orderthat
proper inspcction may be made by the Town.4. The applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Vail, its olficers,
employees and agents from and against all liability, claims and demands on account of
injury, loss cr damage, including without limitation claims arising from bodily injury,
personal injL,ry, sickness, disease, death, property loss or damage, or any other loss of
any kind vr/h?tsoever, rvhich arise out ol or are in any manner connected with-
applicant's aclivities pursuanl to this permit, il such injury, loss, or damage is caused in
whole or In ;:art by, or is claimed to be caused in whole or in part by, the act, omission,
error, professional error, mistake, negliqence or other fault of the applicant, his
contractor o' subconlractor or any officer, employee or representative of the applicant,

liability, clairns, demands, or actions or causes of actions whatsoever arising out of any
damage, loss or injury to lhe applicant or to the applicant's property caused by the
Town of Vail, its officers, agents and employees while engaged in maintenance or
snow removal activities or any other activities whatsoever on Town of Vail property,
streets, side,rualks, or rights-olway.
That the permit may be revoked whenever it is determined that the encroachment.
obstruction, or other structure constitutes a nuisance, destroys or impairs the use of
the right-oFway by the public, constitutes a traffic hazard, or the property upon which
the encroachment, obstruction, or structure exists is required for use by the public; or it
may be revoked at any time for any reason deemed sufficient by the Town of Vail.
That the applicant will remove, at his expense, the encroachment, obstruction, or
structure within ten days after receiving notice of any revocation of said permil.
That the applicant agrees to maintain any landscaping associated with the
encroachment on the right-ol-way.
That in the event said removal of the encroachment, obstruction, or structure is not
accomplished within ten days, the Town is hereby authorized to remove same and
have the right to make an assessment against the property and collect the costs or
removal in lhe same manner as general laxes are collected.

IONrIPRE_APPLICAT MEETING:
A pre-application meeting with a member of the planningstaff is strongly encouraged to determine if any additionaapplication information is needed. It is the applicantrsresponsibility to make an appointment with the staff todetermine if there are additional submittal requirements.
Please note that a COMPLETE application will streaml_ine theapproval process for your project.
III. IMPORTANT NOT]CE REGARD]NG ALL SUBMISSIONS TO THE DRB:
A. In addit.ion to meet.ing submittal requirements, theapplicant must stake and tape the project site toindicate property Lines, building lines and buildingcorners. A11 trees to be removed must be taped. A11site tapings and staking must be completed prior to the
DRB site visit. The applicant must ensure that staking
done during the winter is not buried by snow.
B. The review process for NEW BUILDINGS normally requirestwo separate meetings of the Design Review Board: aconceptual approval and a final_ approval . Applicantsshould plan on presenting their development proposal ata minimum of two meet.ings before obtaining final
approval .
Applicants who fail to appear before the Design ReviewBoard on their scheduled meeting date and who have notasked in advance that di"scussi.on on their item bepostponed, wi-lI have their j_t,ems removed from the DRBdocket until such time as the i-tem has beenrepublished.
The following items may, at the discretion of thezoning administrator, be approved by the Community
Development Department staff (i.e. a formal hearinqbefore the DRB may not be required) :
a. Windows, skylights and similar exterior changes
whi-ch do not alter the existing ptane of thebuildi-ng,' and
b. Building addition proposals not visible from anyoLher lot or public space. At the time such aproposal is submitted, applicants must j-nclude
letters from adjacent property owners and,/or fromthe agent for or manager of any adjacent
condoninium association stating the association
approves of the addit.ion.
ff a property is located in a mapped hazard area (i.e,
snow avalanche, rockfall, flood plain, debris flow,wetland, etc), a hazard study must' be submitted and theowner must sign an affidavit recognizing the hazardreport prior to the issuance of a building permit.Applicants are encouraged to check with a Town plannerprj-or t.o DRB application to det.ermine the relat.ionshipof the property to all mapped hazards.

Three copies of a recent topoqraphic survev, stamped bva licensed surveyor. at a scale of L" - 20' or larger,

Lot area.
Two foot contour intervals unless the parcel
consists of 6 acres or more, in which case, 5'
contour intervals may be accepted.
Existing trees or groups of trees having trunks
!,rith dianeters of 4" or more, as measured from apoint one foot above grade.
Rock outcroppings and other significant nat.ural
features (large boulders, intermittenL streams,
etc. ) .
Hazard areas (avalanche, rockfa11, etc.),
centerline of stream or creek, required creek or
stream set.back, L00-year flood plain and slopes of
40* or more, if applicable.
Ties to existing benchmark, either USGS landnark
or sewer invert. This information should be
clearly st.ated on the survey so that all
neasurements are based on the same starting point..
