Asbestos Testing & Abatement Requirements
Asbestos testing and abatement protects workers, homeowners, neighbors and emergency services responders from ex-
posure to harmful asbestos. It is your responsibility to be in compliance with the State. Please contact the State directly

When is asbestos testinq required?
AfVY building projects disturbing more than these threshald levels of building materials require asbestos testing:
One- and Two-Family Dwellings: 32 square feet
All Othe�s (commercial spaces, hotel rooms, etc): 160 square feet
Definition of a single-family dwelling: any dwetling unit that is used primarily for a singte family, inclutli�tg
mu{ti-family/condominium units, and fractional fee units.
Asbestos testing results must be provided with your app�ication for a building permit.
Tests which identify POSITNE resutts at more than 1% require abatement by a State-certified abatement contractor. The
clearance letter must be submitted to the Town of Vail before the buifding permit will be issued.

unit. The new slider door and windows meet the Design Review requirements of
the Association and have been conditionally approved based upon the owner
