This application is for any projcct rcquiring Dcsign Rcvicrv approval. Any project rcquiring dcsign review must
rcccivc Design Rwiew approval prior to submitting for a building pcrmiL For specific information, see the submittal
rcquircnrcnts for thc particular approval that is requcsted. Thc application cannot bc acceptcd until all thc requircd
intbrnration is submittcd. Thc projcct may also nccd to bc rcvicrvcd by thc Town Council and/or thc Planning and
Environnrcntal Conrnrission. Dcsign Review Board approval cxpires onc ycar. aftcr final approval unlcss a
building permit is issued and construction is startid.

These vcrifications do not rclicvc the contractor of thc responsibility to obtain a Public Way

The Adminisrrator may review and ap'prove Design Rwiew applications. approve with certain modificatioru.
deny the application" or may refer the alplication to thc Design Revi€r, Bmrd for decision. All saff
approvals are subject to final approval by the DRB. The following types of Design Review applicaionis may
be staff approved:
A. Any application for an addition to an existing building that is consist€Nrt with the architectural desigp.
materials and colors of the building. and approval bas been rcceived by an authorized member ofa
condominium association. if applicablc:
B. Any ryplication to nrodiff an existing building that does not sigrificmtly change the o(isting planes
of the buil.ling and is gencrally consistent with the architectural decign natcrials and colors of the
building including. but not limited to exterior building finish matcdals (e.& stoneworlq siding roof
rnaterials. paint or stiain). exterior lighting canopics or awninp. fance,s. antcnnas. sat€llite dishgs.
windows. skylights. siding minor commercial feade improvcmcnb. md other similar modifications:
C. Any application for site improvements or modifications including. but not limitcd to. driveway
modifications. site grading site walls. rcmoval or modifications to existing landscrying. insrallaion

ADDTIIONAL REVIEW AND FEES
A. If this application requires a sqrarate rwiav by any local. sate or Federal agency other than the
Town of Vail. the application fee shall be increased by $200.00. Examplcs of such review. rnay
include. but are not limited to: Colorado Dqrartmot of Highway Access Pcrmi6' Army Corps of
Engineers 404. etc.
B. The ryplicant shall be rcsponsible fu paying ary plblishing fecs which are in cxccss of 50olo of the
application fee. If. at the applicant's reque.st any mattcr is posSoned for hearing" causing the matt€r
to be rc-published. then the entire fce for such rc-publication shall be paid by the applicant.
C. Applications decme.d by the Community Dcvclopment Department to have desip. land use or sther
issucs which may have d significant impact on the conunrmity may require review by consulEtts in
addition to Town staff.. Should a detefidnation be rnade by 6e Town ffithet ao outside consultant

excgss of the amount forwarded by the application shall be paid to the Tovrn by tte applicut within
