RE: Village Center elevator addition building A
Mr. Vaughan,
This letter is intended to describe the full scope of work for changes to the fire sprinkler system that
will be performed by Western States Fire Protection in building for the addition of an elevator at
Village Center building A.
Required modifications to the fire sprinkler system are as follows.
A new 1" control valve will be attached to the existing fire sprinkler riser. Approximately 38 feet of 1"
copper tube will be routed to the elevator pit with an intermediate sidewall sprinkler head within one
foot from the bottom of the pit. The supply pipe will be concealed in a soffit through an unconditioned
space on the exterior of the lower level. Listed heat tape will be installed by alarm and detection
contractor to prevent the wet pipe (water) system from freezing.
All work performed will comply with NFPA 13 and local requirements.
All added materials will be compatible to the existing copper wet system.
It is our understanding that this letter will be sufficient to obtain a permit to proceed with the work
described above. No other work will be done without authorization from VFES. If further information is
required to issue a permit please contact our office in Glenwood Springs at 970 - 618 -3294.
