EX-2458 3anuazy 2407 Component Description CHAFTET 2 COMPNENT DESCRIPTION The Range Guard Wet ChemicaJ ire Suppression System cflnsists of the following major components: • Suppression — Agent storage cylinders distribution piping, nozzles, and defecion devices (mechanical and eleetrical) • Controls • Auxiliary Components Cylinder and Valv Assemlp The Wet Chemical Fire Suppression Systezn, utalizes five sizes oi cylinders. The cylinders consist of a factor-filled wet chernical agent and vale assernbly. The cylinders canform ta DOT sgecification 4BW/4BA and NFPA standards. Distributiaa i'iping The distribution piping (not supplied by Badger Fire Protection) is desiged to distribute the wet chenxical agent to the hazard areas. In the Range Guard re-enlneered system, pipe sizes, zxirzixniuzxa and maxin2um pipe lengths and number of pipe fittings are predetermined. See Chapter 3 for zroze details. Nozzles There are seven types of nozzles for the Wet Chemical Fire Suppression System. Each type o#' nozzle has been designed ax.d tested for specific applications and areas of coverage. The nozzles are: • ADP • R • LPF • LPR • GRW • F • DM Detection Devices There are two rnethads of detecion that can be ernployed in the system: mechanical or electrical. Mechanical detectian uses fusible-link or thermo-bulb link detectors to provide reliable performance. The detectors are desig7ned to separate at a specific temperature and release iension on the detection cable which causes the reIease mechanism to activate. Fusible-link detectors are available in four temperature raings> and the therma-bulh detectors are available in six #emperature ratings. Electrical detection uses heat detectors that are equipped with self-restoring, norrnally-open con.tacts which close when a predeterrrained ternperature is reached. Heat detectors are available in six set points.
