If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works) review and approval,
a Planning Department review or Health Department review, and a review by the Building Departmen! the
estimated time for a total review will take as long as three (3) weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum
requiremenb. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of time. However; if residential or
smaller projects impact the various above mentioned departrnents with regard to necessary review, these
projects may also take three (3) weeks to review and approve.
Every attempt will be made by this department to e><pedite this permit as soon as possible.

We were notified of the need for a new window header on the third floor where an existing window is being
removed and a new 8'-0 window opening is being added. Upon observation of the existing wall configuration, a
(3)-2x10 header with (1)-2x6 King Stud and (1)-2x6 Trimmer each side would be sufficient to support the
existing roof design loads.

The purpose of this letter is to convey the approval of the Vail Golfcourse Townhomes, Phase
III, for the Owner of Unit 37 a new window per the attached drawings. This approval is
contingent upon the following:
L Approval is granted based on the location of Unit 37, pior approvals of similar windows and
the minimal impact this change will have upon the neighbors and residents of this area of the
Associafion.
2. No specific or applied approval is granted for any special or expanded right as to egress,
ingress or use of tlte Association ground owned in common by its members.
3. Any and all costs including, but not limited to, the cost of the work and cleaning up during or
after the work shall be at the expense of the Owner and his sole responsibility. In addition,
any and all costs required to return any disturbed landscaping or irrigation system to their
existing state shall be at the expense of the Owner and his sole responsibility. Il during the
course of construction, any hees are damaged or rsmoved, Owner shall pay the Association
for replacement of said trees at locations to be determined solely by the Association.
4. Owner and all future Owners of Unit 37 shall bear the costs of maintaining the window. All
future maintenance of these elements shall be done by the Association, at its sole discretion,
and all related expenses shall be charged to the Applicant.
5. All rights and obligations between the Applicant and the Association, as set out in the
Condominium Declaration and other governing documcnts with respect to this approval and
the work conternplated thereby, reinain in full force and effect.
This Approval may be recorded, by the Association, at the expense of Applicant, in the Real
Property Records ofEagle County.

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT PROCESS
How it relates to Building permits:
1) Fill out our check list provided with a buildino oermit aoolication.lf yes was answered to any of the above questions ttren a "public way" is
required. You can pick up an application at either community Developmeni
located at 75 S. Frontage Road or Public Works, located at 1gdg vait Viltey Diive.
2) Notice sign offs for utility companies. All utilities must field verify (tocate)
respective utilities prior to signing application. Some utility companies iequire ui
to a 48 hour notice to schedule a locate.
3) A construction tratfic control/staging plan must be prepared on a separate sheet
of paper.An approvad site plan may also be used.

This plan will show locationsof all traffic control devices(signs, cones, etc..) and the work zone, (area of
Construction, Staging, etc..). This plan willexpiie on Oct. 1sth. and will'need tobe resubmitted for approval through the wintei.
4) Sketch of work being performed must be submifted indicating dimensions (length,
width & depth of work). This may be drawn on the tratfic iontrot ptan or a -site
plan for the job.
5) Submit completed application to the Public Works's otfice for review. lf required,
locates will be scheduled for the Town of Vail Electricians and lrrigation crew. fnelocates take place in the moming but, may require up to 4g trours to perform.
6) The Public Work's Construction Inspector will review the application and approve
or disapprove the permit. You will be contacted as to the sidtus ano any tnli mayneeded. Most permits are released within 48 hours of being received, but ptease
allow up to one week to process.
7)' As soon as the permit ,is processed, a copy will be faxed to community
Development allowing the "Building Permif'to bb released. Please do not confusi
the "Public Way Permit" with a "Building Permit" to do work on a project itself.
