Dear lilr. Patten,
I own a lot in Booth Creek -- Vail Village 12th Fi'l ing, Block 2,
Lot 11, -- and have been in the active process of designing plans for a
duplex on that lot. I recently received from Va.i I Associates a copy of
the report by the colorado Geological survey concerning the rockfa'l 'l and
landslide situation in the area. This report obviously concerned me greatly,
both from a safety aspect as well as an economic one.
I wish first to update my address with your department as I have
recently moved --see my address be1 ow, -- and secondly I wish to know if the
town has any more information concerning the Booth creek area at this time.
I am particularly interested to know how much danger my lot is in from these
rocks and slides. Due to the unique location of my 1ot, it appears to be in
a good, relatively safe pl ace considering the situation. But how safe is it?
Therefore, I am jnquiring jf further and future studies are contemplated,
if maps are available which show the danger zone(s), and if there are any
specia'l implications for the design and construction of a residence on my 1ot
(i.e. special retaining wa11s, reinforcements, etc.). Any other infomation
which you might have and can send me will also greatly be appreciated.
