In response to your inquiry regarding permission to install skyLights
and windows Ln Unit D-5, said renodel is approved so long as it is
done in conformance with previous established patternE within
Boothcreek Townhomes. Two skylights of approxlrnately 2r X 5r nay beinstalled so J.ong as they are located In substantially the same
configuration and location on the roof as currently exists on UnitG-2. In particular, the skylights must be centered or setsynrnetrically in relation to the exterior roof-line.
The installation of two windows along the western wall of the unit isapproved. The windows rnust be of the sarne size and design as the
lower window currentLy in place in Unit F-1.
It is understood and a conditional of thiq approval that the
Condoninium Association shall be indennified and heLd harmless fron
any liability or damage relating to the construction and instal]ationof the propcsed windows anci skyiiShts. it is aLso understooctr and
agreed that the Association shall have no liability or maintenanceresponsibility for the skylights or wlndows at anytine in the future,'
although the sarne are located withln general conmon elenents of thebuilding.

Amendment to the 1999 N.E.C. Town of Vail Ordinance 10-1-6.
Overhead services are not allowed in the Town of Vaii.
Underground services have to be in conduit (PVC) from the transformer to the electric meter, main disconnect

switch and to the first electrical distribution circuit breaker oanel.
The main disconnect switch shall be located next to the meter on the exterior wall of the structure easily
accessible.
All underground conduits are required to be inspected before back-filling the trench.
In multi-fumily dwelling units, no electrical wiring or feeder cables shall pass from one unit to another. Common
walls and spaces are accepted.
NM Cable (Romex) is not allowed in commercial buildings or structures exceeding three (3) stories.
No use of aluminum wire smaller than size #8 will be permitted with the Town of Vail.
TOWN OF VAIL ELECTRICAL PERMIT GUIDELINES
All installations of exterior hot tubs or spa's require a DRB approval from planning. This application will
not be accepted without a copy of the DRB approval form attached (if applicable).
If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tub or spa on a new elevated platform or deck over
30" above grade, you must also obtain a building permit.
If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tub or spa on any existing deck or elevated platform,
a structural engineer must review the existing condition and verify that it will support the added
concentrated load. Please provide a copy of the structural engineers wet stamped letter or drawing
with this application.
If this is a remodel in a multi-family building with a homeowners association, a letter of permission
from the association is required.
o If this permit is for a commercial space, two (2) sets of stamped drawings are required.

A. Unlauftl deposits: Subject to subsection C thereof, it is unlawful for any person to litter,
track or d.posq or causc to be littered, tracked or deposite4 san4 gravel, rocks, mu4 dirt,
snow, ice, or any othei debris or material upoo atry street, sidewalh alley or public placg or
any portion thereof.
B. Notice; Abatement: The Director of Public Works may notiS and require any person who
violates or causes another to violate the provision of subsection A hereof, or who has in the
Director's employment a person who violates or causes another to violate the same, top
r€move such sand, gravel, rocls, mud, dirt, snow, ice or any other debris or material witliu
Itwenty four (24) hours after receipt of said notice by the Director of Public Worls. In the
event the person so notified does not comply with the notice within the period of time herein
specified, the Direclor of Public Works, or other authorized agent, may cause any such sand,
gravel, rocks, mu4 dirt, snow, ice, debris or any other material to be removed fiom any street
or alley at the o<pense ofthe notiFred.
C. Exceptions: The provisions of subsection A hereof shall not be applicable:
I . Within the immediate area of any constnrctiorq maintenance or repair project of any
street or alley or of any water main, sewer main, electricity line, gas line, telephone line' or any appurtenance thereto;
2. To deposits of sand, dirt or marcrials necessary fortbe protection of the public safety; and3. To public areas designated for the dumping or depositing of said materials.
D. Summons; Penalty: As an altemative to the notice for removal provided in subsection B
above, any
person who violates or causes another to violate the same, may be issued a summons to
appear before the Municipal Court ofthe Town for said violations, and upon being found
guilty of a violation hereunder be punished as prwided in Section l4-l of this code.
E. Notice; Penalty: It is unlawful for any person to fril or refirse,to comply with the notice of
the
Director of Public Works as provided in subsection B hereof, and any such person shdl, in
addition to payment of the ercpense of removal incuned by the Director of Public Works, as
provided in subsection B hereo{ upon being found guilty ofa violation hereunder, be
punishable as provided in Section l4-l ofthis Code. (1997 Code: Ordinance 6 (1979)

If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Departneut Approval, Engineer's (Public Works)
review and approval, a Planning Department review of Health Department review, and a review
by the Building Deparnnent, the estimated time for a total review may take as long as three (3)
weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multi-fr.mily permits will have to follow the above
mentioned ma.'cimurn requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of
time. However, if residential or smaller projects impact the various above mentioned
departments with regard to necessary review, these projects may also take the three (3) week
period.
Every attempt will be made by this departnent to expedite this permit as soon €rs possible.
I, tbe undersigned, understand the Plan Check procedure and time frame. I also understand that if
the permit is not picked up.by the expiration date, that I must still pay the Plan Check Fee and
that if I fail to do so it may affect ftture permits that I apply for.

steep bank areas on the south and qrest sides of the property,

To date f have not received any response to my July 7, L975letter, wherein I requested your repl_y by Jul_y 18, 1975. Acopy of the .Tuly 7th letter is enclosed herein.
I will be away from the office from August 6, 1975, to AugustL8, 1975. I want to put the developer of the Booth Creek Town-houses on notice of my complaints regarding deficiencies andother difficulties in the development by July 3L, L975, so thatit will have two months, August and September, in which to makecorrections during the 1975 building season. By October thedeveloper might take the position that winter weather conditionspreclude further construction in 19?5 and until_ Mav 1976. Inorder to know where I stand with respect to the deireloper andthe condition of the development, I need the information soughtin my July 7th letter.
Please give me a comprehensive reply to my JuIy 7th letter byJuly 28, L975, so that I can write to the developer by July 31,1975. rf you cannot respond in a comprehensive mannei to myJuly 7th letter by JuJ-y 28th, please so notify me upon yourhereof. In the absence of such notification by July 25,will presume that you will deliver a comprehensive reply

It appears to us that one and one-half years after we took occu-
pancy of our unit the project has not been fully completed. For
example, the landscaping is grossly inadeguate, numerous deadtrees have not been removed, there are at least two large piles
of debris (one of which is outside our front door), and the tenniscourts have not been completed, those being the only recreationalamenities. There are many other problems but I will not enumerate
them since I do not consider that, they fall within the purview ofthis inquiry.
I request that your Buil&Isng Official and,/or other appropriate
employees inspect the Bboth Creek Townhouses to determine whetherthe developer has satisfied aIl the construction and project
requirements which were imposed on this development by the Town.
Then give me your written reply, which informs me as to all the
Town requirements and whether each has been complied with by the
developer.
