Peterman Inspector Manager Certificate No. 6601 2 A & D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R. Peterman Asbestos Testing, Project Design, and Consulting INTRODUCTION: On February 15, 2006 an inspection /survey was conducted and 1 bulk sample was collected from the: Nine Vail Road Building 9 Vail Road Vail, CO. 81657. -- Parking Garage -- The purpose of the inspection/survey was to locate and sample suspected Asbestos containing materials that might be present in the spray on material on the ceiling of the Parking Garage. The inspection was made, and the samples were collected by John R. Peterman, an A.H.E.R.A. and State of Colorado Certified Asbestos Inspector. Great care was taken during the inspection and sampling to be as accurate as possible. It should be noted that minimal damage was done to the existing building structures during the inspection so there is no documentation for unseen conditions or stored items. All samples were analyzed by DCM Science Lab in Wheatridge, CO. This laboratory is deemed "Proficient" in the E.P.A.Quality Assurance (QA) program for the determination of asbestos in bulk materials, and is accredited by the American Hygiene Association (AHA). SAMPLING PROTOCOL: A random sampling scheme was used to sample the suspect materials that were discovered. If during any future demolition or renovation work, suspect material is discovered that hasn't been sampled and would be disturbed, work should be halted until the material has been tested. 3 A & D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R. Peterman Asbestos Testing, Project Design, and Consulting Nine Vail Road Building 9 Vail Road Vail, CO. 81657. -- Parking Garage -- UNIT DESCRIPTION: The Parking Garage at 9 Vail Road is concrete with a spray on texture on the ceiling. The spray on material is in good condition for the most part, with some isolated areas of water damage. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS: Laboratory analysis, of the bulk samples, indicates that Asbestos was detected in the suspect material. However, the Asbestos content of the positive samples is less than the Regulatory Limit (Greater than I% Asbestos). The purpose of the inspection/survey was to locate and sample suspected Asbestos containing materials that might be present in the Hallways that are planned for renovation. The inspection was made, and the samples were collected by John R. Peterman, an A.H.E.R.A. and State of Colorado Certified Asbestos Inspector. Great care was taken during the inspection and sampling to be as accurate as possible. It should be noted that minimal damage was done to the existing building structures during the inspection so there is no documentation for unseen conditions or stored items. HALLWAY DESCRIPTION: The Nine Vail Road Building is a five story building with several individual units. This report covers the Hallways and the Common Areas of the building. The ceilings are covered in sheetrock with a spray -on texture, and the walls are sheetrock with wallpaper over it. The floors are covered with carpet, and ceramic tiles. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS: Laboratory analysis, of the bulk samples, indicate that Asbestos was detected in all of the bulk samples. The spray -on ceiling texture contains Asbestos that is in excess of the Regulatory Limit (Greater than 117o Asbestos). The spray -on texture will need to be abated as per Colo. Reg. #8 prior to disturbance of the material. The composite sheetrock samples contain Asbestos that is less than the Regulatory Limit. The Asbestos content of the composite sample was verified by the required Point Count Analysis. The sheetrock should be removed by Facility Component Methods.
