Dear Mr. Treppeda:
We visited the subject site on October 25 and November 10, 2006 in order to review
temporary shoring as specified in our December 11, 2005 Temporary Shoring & Reinforcements
speciiication and as amended in our December 28, 2005, February 3, 2006 and February 11,
20061etters. At this time, the temporary shoring has been installed in accordance with our .
specification and amended letters.
During the course of our November 10, 2006 visit, we observed subsequent crushing of
the second floor over the north-south oriented interior masonry walls. In addition to our previous
specification and amended letters, it is recommended that solid blocking be installed between
existing second floor joists over the north-south oriented interior masonry walls. The blocking
should be composed of vertically oriented 2x8's stacked solid between the joists. At crush areas,
inactive plumbing should be removed to make way for the blocking. At crush areas with active
plumbing, studs over the active plumbing should be moved over the blocking.
