This application is required for any sign that is located within the Town of Vail. All signs require design review approval.
Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be reviewed on-line at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information — Town Code On-
line (Title 11 Signs). An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the
Community Development Department. Design review approval lapses unless sign is installed within one year of the approval.

Within the Town Code RSES is located within Sign District 1. Within this sign district you are permitted a building
identification sign of a size based upon your building frontage. I have estimated the length of your building to be
approximately 370 square feet. This results in the building being permitted 60 square feet. It appears the letters in the
attached plan are 12 inches (1 foot) high by some length which I estimate to be 30 feet for approximately 30 square feet
of signage.
Please rememeber the square footage of signage on the freestanding monument for RSEs comes out of your allowable
60 sf. With an estimate of 30 sf for the sign you want to install and the small size of the monument size I believe you
have the square footage available.
Your next step would be to submit a complete Design Review Sign application and fee. IGS has access to these
applications and fees.
The sign must be within 25 feet of the ground.
