Fill out the atbched check list with the Buildlno Permit Apolication.
If yes rirns answered to any of the questJons hen a 'Public Way" permit is required. You
can pick up an application at either Community Development, locabd at 75 Soutt Frontage
Road or Public.Work, locaEd at 1309 Elkhom Drive.
Notice sign-offs for utility companies. ALL utilities must field verifi7 (locate) .respective
utilites prior to signing applicafion. Some utility companies rcquire up to 48 hours notice b
schedule a locaE.
A construction traffic contro/staging plan must be prepared on a separate sheet of paper,
An approved site plan may also be used. This plan will show locatjons of all traffic control
devices (signs, cones, etc.) and the work zone, (area of conshuction, staging, etc.). This
plan will expire on November 1st and will need to be resubmitted for considention for
approval through tre winter. Be aware that your resubmission for winter may be denied
depending on the location of construction,
Sketh of work being performed must be submitted indicating dimensions (length, width
and deptr of work). This may be drawn on the traffic control plan or a site plan for the ;bb.
Submit completed application b the Publ'a Work's office for review. If required, locabs will
be scheduled for he Town of Vail electricians and irrigation crew. The locates bke place in
the moming, but may require up to 48 hours to perform.
The Public Work's Construction Inspector will review the application and approve or deny
the permit. You will be conbcted as to the status and any requirements hat may be
needed. Most permits are released wihin 48 hours of being received, but please allow up
to one (1) week to process.
As soon as he permit is approved, die Building Depaffnent will be notified, allowing the
"Building Permit" to be released. Please do not confuse fre Yublic Way Permit" with a
"Building Permit".
NOTE: The above process is for rnprk in a public rnray ONLY. Public Way
Permits are valid only until November 15th. A new Public Way Permit is required
each year if rruork is not complete. Re-application each November 15th does not
mean an aubmaUc renevval. (

The Town of Vail Building Department has developed the following procedures to ensure that new
construction sites have adequately established proper drainage from building sites along and
adjacent to Town of Vail roads or streets.
The Town of Vail Public Works Depaftment will be required to inspect and approve drainage
adjacent to Town of Vail roads or streets and the installation of temporary or permanent culverts at
access points from the road or street onto the construction site. Such approval must be obtained
prior to any requests for inspection by the Town of Vail Building Department for footings,
temporary electrical or any other inspection. Please call Leonard Sandoval at479-2198 to request
an inspection from the Public Works Depatment. Allow a minimum of 24 hour notice,
o Also, the Town of Vail Public Works Department will be approving all final drainage and culvert
installation with resulting road patching as necessary. Such approval must be obtained prior to any
Final Certificate of Occupancy issuance.

If this permit requires a Tpwn of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works)
review and approval, a Planping Department review or Health Department review, and a review
by the Building Department, the estimated time for a total review will take as long as three (3)
weeks.
All commercial (large or srirall) and all multi-fami! permits will have to follow the above
mentioned maximum requir(ments. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount
of time. However, if resi{ential or smaller projects impact the various above mentioned
departments with regard to hecessary review, these projects may also take three (3) weeks to
review and approve.
Every attempt will be made bV this department to expedite this permit as soon as possible,

that if the permit is not picked up by the expiration date, that I must still pay the plan check fee
