Road or Public Works, located at 1309 Elkhom Drive'
Notjce sign-offs for utility compaoies. ALL utilities must field veriff (locate) respective
utilities prior b Sgning application. Some utility companies require up to zl8 hours notice to
sdedule a locate.

An approved site plan may also be used. This plan will show locafiorrs of all fraffrc control
devices (signs, cones, etc.) and the work zone, (area of consffuction, staging, etc'). This
plarr will explre on November 1st and wilt need to be resubmitted for consideration for
approval through the winter. Be aware that your resubmission for winter may be denied
depending on the locaton of construction.
Sketch of work being performed must be submitted indicating dimensions (tenqth' width
and depth of work). This may be drawn on the ffic contJol plan or a site plan for the job-
Submit completed application to the Public Workt office for review. If required, locates will
be scheduled for the Town of Vail elecfiicians and inigation crew. The locates take Place in
the moming, but may require up to 48 hours to perform.
The Public Work's Construction Inspector.will review the application and approve or deny
the permit. You wilt be contacted as to the status and any requirements that may be
needed- Most permits are released wi$in zE hours of being received, but please allow up
to one (1) week to process.
As soon as the permit is approved, the Building Depaftrnent will be notified, allowing the
"Euilding Permif'to be reteased. PIease do not COnfuSe the "PUbliC Way Permit" with a
*Bedlding Permir,.
NOTE: The above proaess is tur work ii a public way ONLY. Public Way
Permits are valid only until November 15th, A new Public Way Permit is rcquired
eadr year if work is not ornplete- Re-application eadt f{oremtter 15th does not

ensure that new consfflrction sites have adequately established proper drainage
from building sites along and adjacent to Town of Vail roads or streets.
o The Town of Vail Public Works Deparrnent will be required to inspect and approve
drainage adjacent to Town of Vail roads or streets and the installation of temporary
or permanent culverts at access points from the road or street onto the construction
site. Such approval muet be obtained prior to any requests for inspection by the
Town of Vail Building Department for footings, temporary electrical or any other
inspection. Please call Leonard Sandoral at 479-2198 to request an inspection from
the fublic Worts Department. Allow a minimum of 24 hour notice.

and culvert installation with resulting road patching as necessary. Such approval

Dear Lynn:
Thanks again for yow on-going assistance with the permitting process for Apartrnent I at Lion Square
Lodge, and for being so quick in responding to me! Charlie stopped by today to check the plumbing work
in the shower. He said that we need to get a building pemrit in addition to the plumbing permit. This is
because we opened a pretty big hole in the wall to replace the existing shower fixtures. We gave us some
recommendations for the type of drywall to use.
Attached is a copy of the build permit form that you faxed to me. Ive filled in the sections that seern to
apply to our job. Bill Anderseq the Building Manager for Lion Square Lodge, will send (fax) a Condo
Asssociation letter of approval to me on Tuesday. Should I fax that to you, too? I have also included a
check for the work.
