www.vailgov.com under Vail Information — Town Code Online. All projects requiring design review must receive approv-
al prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all re-
quired information is received by the Community Development Department, as outlined in the submittal requirements.
The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Planning and Environmental Commission.
Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction
commences.

First of all Dave, the house looks lovely; thank you very much for providing the plans for review. Unit 3
has a couple of discussion items, and in the interest of transparency I've cc'd all parties involved. For
ease of reference, I've included an expanded and annotated file "Ruttum_ site _plan_KC ". Please open
this file as the "A, B, C" below corresponds with the "A, B, C" labels on the map.
You wouldn't know it as you are new to the neighborhood, but the location of parcel C (prior to your
owning it) was a hotly negotiated issue. Kemil Rizk (uphill from you) and we (Unit 3) eventually agreed
to allow parcel C to be moved significantly closer both our properties to make it easier to build on,
even to the detriment of our property values. It was not a pleasant, or inexpensive, 5 month
negotiation. As a result unfortunately, you will find that none of us are willing to discuss any
incursions across building envelopes — even for a deck. We would therefore ask you to find a different
solution.
This is labeled as "dumpster." We were curious as to your plans here? Would it be possible to put a
second trash receptacle over by the other ones? One of the concerns we have is around the ability of
the snow plow operator to effectively move and store snow between our two places (for eventual
melting and run off) as this is the primary snow storage spot for the whole lower driveway. As a
general question to all, would this might be a good opportunity (with your heavy equipment already on
site) to make a more effective snow storage area right off the driveway at that location? I think this
part would need to be agreed -to and paid -for by all that use the driveway, as we are will face a real
issue on a good snow year after you build your house.
In your email, you had asked to change the plans from a 3 car to a 2 car garage. We are ok with this.
Related to item C, and only for your consideration, we would suggest perhaps making a slightly longer
driveway (even 2 feet longer). The driveway we ended up with at our house down here in Longmont
has a 19 foot driveway and SUVs end up hanging over onto the side walk, and yours seems perhaps
even shorter than that? Of course, this is only a suggestion, but we have been living with a short
driveway for a while now and find it often challenging.
