Somelocalcodesmayrequiretheuseofa separateneutralizationunittotreatthe aggressiveandcorrosivecondensate. Withaneutralizationunitinstalled,all condensatefromtheboilerandthefluegas pipeentersintotheneutralizationunit whereitistreatedandreleasedintothe publicsewagesystemwithasafepHvalue ofabove6.5. Theuseofneutralizationgranulate (performingtheneutralizingprocess)is dependentontheoperationoftheheating system.Todeterminetherequiredrefill amount,checkgranulatelevelseveraltimes duringthefirstyearofoperation.Insome casesonegranulatefillmaylastanentire year. ContactViessmanntoorderaneutralization unitfortheVitodens100-Wboiler. SeeViessmannPriceListfororder information. Thecondensatedischargeoutlettothe drainagesystemconnectionmustbeclearly visible.Itmustbeinstalledwithasuitable gradientandprovidedwithastenchtrap. Ifthecondensateoutletofthe Vitodens100-Wboilerislowerthanthe drain,acondensatepumpmustbeused. Onlycorrosion-resistantmaterialsmaybe usedforcondensatedrainagepurposes(e.g. braidedhose).Donotusegalvanized materialsormaterialscontainingcopperfor piping,couplingsetc.Thecondensatedrain musthaveatraptopreventfluegas leakage. Pleasenotethatotherrequirementsmay applydependingonlocalregulationsand/or project-specificdetails. Itisadvisabletocontactyourlocal waterworksoffice(authorityresponsiblefor wastewaterregulations)wellbefore commencingwiththeinstallationofthe neutralizationunitinordertoestablish detailsoflocalregulationsthatapply.
