Mechanical, Electrical, & Lighting Design Services An Office with LEEDTM Accredited Professionals Observation Report Date: March 28, 2013 Location: LSLE Project: LSLE Weather Cond.: 30 degrees partly cloud Project No.: 11005 Time: 8:30 am Client: Melick Duration: 1/2 hour Prepared By: Stan Humphries Forwarded: Chip Melick Site Observations Met with Pete Petersen and Eli Lujan with New Electric to review the electrical inspectors statement, "termination cabinet lengths on parallel runs do not match. Cabinet was to be bottom fed. Phase conductors touching and laying on phase blocks taped up with rubber tape. Electrician did not have much of a choice. Have electrical engineer inspect and sign off." With site review we would provide the following responses: 1. We've reviewed the voltage drop calculations and would understand a 3' shorter run on the phase marked with red would result in less than 1/4 % difference. We would state that as insignificant. 2. We reviewed the conductor routing within the meterbank terminal box. Looking at it closely the electrician felt that he would be able to tie off the conductors better to pull them together and to pull them away from any hard surfaces. He will take a further precaution to provide insulation tape of any hard surfaces near the conductors. 40801 US Hwy 6 & 24, Suite 214,Eagle-Vail, CO 81620 Post Office Box 8489,Avon, CO 81620 phone: 970-748-8520 fax: 970-748-8521 email: stan(a)aec-vail.com web: www.aec-vail.com
