PARKING STRUCTURE REMINDER
Due to an anticipated increase in visitors to Vail over the upcoming holiday weekend and
beyond, contractors are asked to park on the north side (Frontage Road side) of both the Vail
Village and LionsHead parking structures. Town of Vail parking staff will be directing
construction vehicles to those locations. Also, increased enforcement of over-the-line and
oversized vehicle violations is underway to ensure adequate parking. For more information, call

CDOT NIGHTIME WORK ON I-70
Beginning May 27, the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin nighttime work on I-70
between Dowd Junction and the East Vail exit. Work will be performed between the hours of
6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and will include resurfacing, replacement of
guardrail sections and continuation of the glare screen near powd Junction. Speed limits will be
reduced to 40 mph in the construction zone; normal speeds will resume during daytime hours.

TEVA MOUNTAIN GAMES
The Teva Mountain Games will return to Vail June 5— 8 with events scheduled throughout Vail
Village and Golden Peak. Construction deliveries and other activities in Vail's rights-of-way will
be limited during the event. A schedule of events and locations is attached to this update. For

Public Project Updates
Seibert Circle
The majority of the mechanical equipment is installed and most of the stone work is anticipated
to be complete next week. The project is targeting completion in approximately two weeks. At
that time, the design team will calibrate and program the fountain, which is anticipated to take

Eaqle River Water& Sanitation District Work
The District is completing a utility crossing of Vail Road. Following the crossing, water and
sewer line work on Beaver Dam Road will begin and is anticipated to be underway from late
May through October. Access to all residences will be maintained; however, it will change from
east to west as work progresses.
Also, work is underway on the abandonment of an old water line in Vail Valley Drive. Motorists

Private Project Updates
Front Door
Work continues on the chalets, with the tower crane scheduled for removal May 28-29. Bike
path, Vista Bahn ski yard and landscaping work is occurring as weather permits. Contact Jeff

Solaris
Pre-cast work is underway, with deliveries occurring off of the South Frontage Road. Crawler
crane delivery is tentatively set for the first week in June; the operation would take place from 2

FourSeasons

Manor Vail
Ford Park access from Vail Valley Drive near Northwoods is anticipated to be complete this
week. Paver work on the Ford Park path through Manor Vail near Golden Peak will also begin

Mountain View
The crane currently used for setting pre-cast is scheduled to demobilize in the early morning
hours the week of June 2. Then, a hydro-crane will be brought in to finish pre-cast, which is
anticipated to be complete by mid-June. On June 16, work to complete the boulder wall above
the streamwalk will resume. Flaggers will be in place to ensure pedestrian safety. Contact Jeff

The Willows
Road prep is underway for final street configuration of Willow Road. Interior work is continuing.
Work on the retaining wall and stairs up to Vail Road is occurring as weather permits. Contact

Nine Vail Road

Rucksack
Demolition of the front section of the Rucksack Building is underway. Fencing currently in the
right-of-way will be pulled back toward the site no later than June 27. Contact Mark Hallenbeck,

Announcements
• Katsos Ranch recreation path drainage work is continuing. Paving is scheduled for May
31, weather permitting. Users should anticipate delays or closures, the project is
targeting an early June completion. Contact Gregg Barrie with the TOV at (970) 479-

• Work on the Ford Park raw water project to convert irrigation systems from domestic
water to untreated water is continuing. Contact John Cahill with the ERW&SD at (970)

• Contractors are asked to remove silt sacks from storm sewers and hay bales from
ditches to accommodate higher water flows occurring due to spring run-off conditions.

Streetscape—west side of mall
• Concrete steps and walls will be formed this week.
• Lifts are working on the west side of the Arrabelle on exterior punch list items.
• Pavers continue to be installed south of Haagen Dazs.
Core Site
• Work continues from man lifts on the plaza finishing downspouts and punch list items.
• Grading continues in the skier yard.
• Final coat of the stucco ceiling is being completed above the escalators.
• Stone seating around the ice rink is installed and fire place is complete.
Ritz-Carlton
Excavation and shoring continues. Pre-cast is underway and will continue through mid-June.

Lion Square Lodqe North —Tower Residences
Shoring is continuing. Excavation of underground parking will begin next week. Asbestos
